Most high schoolers collect their offers throughout the year and they wait until their season is over so they know what schools they have to choose from. The FCS kids who decide early either get the offer they wanted all along and accept, or they aren't getting any interest from the FBS schools .
Of course.......every H.S. kid dreams of playing football in Brookings!

According to this article NDSU is pursuing Wheaton (IL) OL/K Nick Immekus.

Some jaw-dropping stats from the ESPN article:
"As an offensive lineman and also a kicker, Immekus is already a rarity among high school players. What puts him in the 99th percentile of kickers/offensive linemen is he's good from 60-plus yards out.
    ...

Immekus had his coming out party as a kicker during the fourth week of that season. The Tigers were trailing Glenbard North 14-13 with nine seconds remaining and the ball on their opponents' 30-yard line. Muhitch wanted to throw a quick pass play and get Immekus a little closer.

    Immekus had a different idea.

"He came over, and he said, 'Coach, I will make this kick,'" Muhitch said. "I turned and looked at him in the eye. Everyone was looking at me in me the huddle. I said, 'Let's go.'

"He not only kicked that thing … Our sophomores were in the end zone, and soon as the ball was kicked, they started going nuts in the end zone. We couldn't see from that angle. He kicked it at least 60 yards."

The 46-yard field goal that defeated Glenbard North is the longest Immekus has connected in a game. Off a one-inch tee in practice, he has nailed a 64-yard field goal. Off the ground, he's hit from as far as 59 yards. He also recorded touchbacks on 65 percent of his kickoffs last season."

With that sort of boot, colleges have been calling. Illinois, Michigan State, Northern Illinois, Southern Illinois and North Dakota State are recruiting him. Muhitch and Immekus realize it's in his best interest to delay his commitment as more schools could come along.
Sounds like a player worthy of picking up on Bibeau's legacy

NOTE: Haven't been able to find any other source that confirms this (which conists mostly of rivals), so take this post with a grain of salt the size of a boulder. Just thought I'd throw this out there.

So him picking NDSU had nothing to do with the fact that they gave him a scholarship offer now and SDSU hasn't yet and might not have at all? It was all coaches, fans, and tradition? Makes sense.

I think SDSU would have offered. Had nothing to do with that. He really likes the coaches and facilities. Pretty simple.

If he really really wanted to play for SDSU I would think he would have waited to verbal until he seen if they would offer, so either A) he had zero intentions on going to any other school and really did fall in love with the Facilities, coaches, tradition, fans (it does happen) or B) SDSU told him they would not give a full ride you decide

Most student athletes would prefer to be located in a suburban setting like Fargo versus a hick town like Brookings. Even if the football field is in a dome the facility and the coaches offices kick a$$ compared to the dump of Cough-Lin and other subpar crap there. So what you have a crap DI outdoor stadium with porta potties and a big screen. BFD!

Max Busher middle linebacker for Rosemount.

He hit a number of camps this summer to showcase his talents for the next level. He attended one day camps at Minnesota, Northwestern, North Dakota State and Northern Iowa. He had offers to go to more camps, but selected the four he attended because of the high interest he has received from each. He has a scholarship offer from North Dakota, NDSU and after the Northern Iowa camp, the coaches told him he could be expecting an offer from them in the coming weeks.

He also took a trip out west and visited Colorado, Colorado State and Wyoming. Since then they have shown a lot of interest.

In addition to the schools he has visited on trips or with camps, he has started to get interest from schools like Washington State, Stanford, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan.

    Post Re: 2010: Recruiting Summary

I was looking at the gopher hole this morning and was looking at their Quick Chat section for football recruiting. There was a Quick Chat with Collin Giles ( May 8, 2009) a 6'4" 285 pound LB/Center from Academy of Holy Angels, he mentioned one of the schools that peaked his interest was North Dakota State. I havn't seen him mentioned on the list of potential recruits. Am I missing something ? Has he commited somewhere else ? Just wondering.
