Besides Smith, any ND kids out there?

Mr. Burgundy posted that 2 other ND kids have offers from the Bison: Red River LB Tyler Gefroh, and Langdon LB Travis Beck. http://www.bisonville.com/forum/show...557#post287557
There has been conversation about Bismarck High QB/S Esley Thornton, but no solid indication that he is being recruited by NDSU.

Not that I have found
Re: 2010: Recruiting Summary
Austin Sumner, the outstanding QB from Brandon Valley, SD lists NDSU as one of his four finalists.

Last season, Brandon Valley quarterback Austin Sumner threw for more than 3,300 yards, 32 touchdowns and only seven picks. And, on top of that, he was named first-team All-State. Now, entering his senior season, the 6'5", 215-pound Sumner is without a doubt the best quarterback in the South Dakota..
Sumner plans to wait until after the season is over to decide on a college. He will be going Division I though. South Dakota State, North Dakota State, Iowa State, and Wisconsin are his four finalists..

By the way, it appears that Chad Gilson, the Urbandale, IA kid who holds an NDSU offer, will be playing QB for the first time this fall. I'm guessing that the Bison may be interested in him as a linebacker, rather than a QB.
Re: 2010: Recruiting Summary
"I just want to get to that bigger level, play on the big stage somewhere," Sumner said. "It doesn't matter where, but I just want to go big-time."
Well, I guess he eliminated SDSU from his choices........

I'm sure he considers NDSU the same level as SDSU, so both are probably out. You don't see too many 6'6 QB's with rifle arms in the FCS, I'd be surprised if he didn't go FBS.

I would have to agree with your size logic.
Maybe he would rule out SDSU just for the mere fact of SDSU having something like 5 qb's on the roster right now. Seems like that stable is a bit crowded... oh well he would be a great "get" for either program!
Re: 2010: Recruiting Summary
I don't know why but every now and then SD seems to produce some big talent at QB.
Re: 2010: Recruiting Summary
Added Esley Thorton to the VERBAL list (woohoo!)

...Joe Flacco... :)
Re: 2010: Recruiting Summary
- Added AJ Troup a WR from MN to the interest list.
- Add a new category for fellas that we strongly suspect got offers from NDSU (Tyler Gefroh and Travis Beck).
- Added Austin Sumner to the Offer list even though the link didn't explicitly say that he has been offered

Do you think Mussman will quit going against Bohl? Get the brooms out......this is a sweep. (Again).

He was still an FCS QB with that type of description. Brandon Jacobs was an Auburn transfer, but does that make him any less of a Saluki?

If badmouthing NDSU and taking recruits on tour of the hockey arena is their strategy, it's probably time to go to Plan B: A quasi-hysterical editorial in the GFH decrying NDSU's recruiting and then some legislative noise over gosh knows what.

At some point, though, you have to think that even the Herald and the legislature might catch on to the pattern.
OK, no, never mind. That's crazy talk, Tatanka.

That's not the point, he chose FBS first. When it was apparent that he wasn't going to start for Pitt, dropping down a level to FCS in order to play immediately instead of sitting out a year was the logical choice to make regardless of what team he wanted to play for. I think what the Jack fan was saying is that you rarely see 6'6" QB's with talent like Flacco commit to a non-FBS team right out of high school, and there is a lot of truth in that.
Re: 2010: Recruiting Summary
Per SuperFan and WDAY, I added Adam Schueller to the Verbal list.
Re: 2010: Recruiting Summary
Changed Jesse Hinz from OL to DT (was just guessing about the position).

Interesting. In this article, it says he was recruited to play OL.
Quote:
While Hinz was recruited as an offensive lineman by North Dakota State, Sexton said he’s as good or better as a defensive lineman at the high school level..
While Hinz was recruited as a guard or center, he said coaches told him he could also be a tackle.
Re: 2010: Recruiting Summary
Hinz: Maybe he's viewed as either side of the ball. If a couple stud DTs are signed, he goes offense. If not, he plays DT.
