I believe Sagarin had SHSU over EWU? If so, Sagarin is now 10-0 in predicting the victors the last 3 weeks. I'm glad we're at least a slight favorite over SHSU.

Agreed!!!!! Because the other probabilities are not on the side of the Bison. See my thread...

Even though I don't like the results of your analysis, nice work BN!

Tell me Neil... Lets suppose you are right and your pessimistic prediction is correct. Just what does this prove? More so, why are you so insistent that your prediction is correct?

I was at the game Friday night. I also watched the game once I got back home yesterday. There were some things I did not like, but there was a hell of a lot more to appreciate. Especially the attitude of the team and the fans. There is NO quit in either of those groups.

I also watched Sammy. Bell is good, but he is far from having the skill set that McKinnon has. Their Oline did not show the ability that GSU demonstrated. And their secondary was lit up like a Christmas Tree.

Personally, I believe this will be a close game. I also believe that the Bison will find a way to win. Mr. Sagarin and I agree.

Well, it is not my predicition per se, it is what the statistical probability analysis predicted. I just did the analysis and don't necessarily think it means anything other than from a historical perspective.

I will say this, the fact that EWU lite up SHSU secondary is, in my opinion, the meaningless fact here. While it is true that SHSUs pass defense isn't in the top 50 statistically, I say this largely because I don't believe Jensen and his WRs have the ability to do the same. EWU had the #7 passing attack in the country, NDSU isn't even in the top 50.

What is far more important in the upcoming NC game, in my opinion, is that SHSU has the #3 rushing defense, NDSU has the #2. NDSU didn't get squat running the ball in last years match up. Unfortunately, I don't have confidence in the Bison offense being able to take advantage of SHSUs weakness in pass defense.

Interestingly, TSN has flip-flopped on their prediction of the NC game. You all might recall they predicted a rematch of the natty game and predicted NDSU would win. Now they predict SHSU will win.

I think that Rock is still fuming somewhat because of my temporary negativity from Friday night's game.
Oh, and BTW, if any of you ever sit next to Moses during a game.....be very careful to NOT eff with his camera. My jaw is still terribly swollen.

And that was from a simple stare.

I have stated many times that ones opinion is just that. I respect yours, just do not agree. The statistics simply state that this will be a close game and give a slight edge to the Bison. Your point of statistics bringing a historical perspective did force a smile. That analysis certainly is not based on future data... Regarding the TSN switch in position: They are just a bunch of rubes like usuns on BV. There is no special magic there.

The other bullets become coaching points. If Sammy goes eight in the box, I believe they are more vulnerable. EWU barely ran the ball yet were able to move downfiled with big chunks of yardage. If they have seven in the box, our running game will have an improved potential outcome.

The most important indicator that stands out after these last two games is the belief the Bison have in each other. Both games were tough and in both, the opponent had better metrics. However the Bison had the attitude. When the going got tough, the Bison stepped up and made 'it' happen. They do not and will not quit.

Based on the data you bring to the table plus my uneducated observations, I expect this to be a lower scoring affair with the winner taking advantage of their opponents mistakes. And I believe the Bison will be the winner.

Besides, it is one hell of a lot more fun to be optomistic than pesimestic.
