Exactly. Those things happen in Minnesota too. The attendence is not all that different for the two schools. Fans show up for the big games, and during winning streaks.

    Good, glad that is settled.

    So to be clear-
-Everyone hates UND so be civil.

-If you want to do real tailgaiting, the 2 mile shuttle from the fair is where the Bison party is at.

    -If not, Sally's.

    Did I miss anything?

I grew up in the twin cities before I came to ND for college and work, so I definitely know how apathetic people can be down there towards the Gophers.

I witnessed that collapse at the dome in 2004 against Michigan, talk about an all time bashing from the fans and media!

Yes, you did! Is Sally's like my wife (Sally happen's to be my wife's name btw)--a money sponge where you have to "purchase" alcohol and food, or is it a "tailgating" scene?

That was 2003, and it was horrible. That year also proves how hungry the fan base is for a winner. There were 65,000 excited fans for that game. 2004 was a heart breaker in Ann Arbor.

That's my whole point here too...trying to avoid dropping $200 on booze & food at a pre-game bar or tent, when $75 worth of food & booze will be more than enough at a tailgating scene for my wife and I.

I'm pretty sure that shuttle is free from the fairgrounds. If it is where I think it is, it is grass as well. I had grass down in Aimes a couple years ago and I think it is the only way to go on a nice day like that was.

Sally's is a bar. I've picked up from this thread that Sally's will be where the NDSU party is for people who don't want to deal with the tailgating situation.

I for one don't mind the fairground option because with the game and transit being almost 4 hours and they letting you have 4 hours after the game it will be a lot of fun and you can find someone to sober up over the course of almost 8 hours.

Funny. I was in Chub's bar in Fargo watching that game during NDSU homecoming that year. To a person every NDSU fan was cheering for the Gophers.

Looks like I will be loading up a stiff drink to have the whole day while I walk around and party with other people ala Lincoln. Ditch the drink before the game, walk to hotel after, refill and then get on the bus again. Works for me.
