Honestly it seems like your recruiting has went pretty well. Numbers-wise at least. Muss said the count was like 15 or something right?

I'm just making an observation, but its never easy getting recruits in transition. But as always, only time will tell if a class will work out.

When you look at a recruit first thing I always look for is who else is recruiting him. If he has none there are reasons as I have explained eariler posts. If a kid has no offers from same level schools and it's Dec/Jan - nothing to brag about as measurables and is being recrutied by lower division schools then I being to worry a little. The kids we got that other schools (same division) want I personally feel better about. Now if you get a great kid early he may not have any offers yet that happens all the time. So yes my rule of thumb is offers. Example the kid Lennon stole from you last year that committed to UND and then went to SIU. Now that's a kid you know you're in the right ball park as far as talent. Be interesting to see how he turns out this year. D Lineman I think.

It's kind of interesting how recruiting works. Every year there are guys that I look at and think that they don't have much of a chance to contribute and who didn't have offers from other schools. Lee Vandal and Keith Buckman come to mind and, lo and behold, they could end up in the NFL.

Speaking of Buckman, how much of a shot does he have?

From the videos posted, it looks like he could suceed with a twist of wildcat as he played QB/WR/RB in high school. Most of the highlights are of him being a QB. Very intersting, great footwork!

Truer words were never spoken. I feel UNDs pain because I have already felt NDSUs.

Of Bohl's five transition classes, 04-08, one was excellent (the first one for crying out loud, go figure) and 07 is shaping up as pretty solid. Two others were failures and 08 might not be so good with few game changers.

So, Mussman has his hands full for sure.
