Even though SDSU has beaten NDSU 3 years in a row their coach has zero idea at recruiting and obviously sits around and waits for all the left over recruits to come to him. Its apparent by his record the last few years and direction the program is going in that he has no skill at evaluating talent and as a matter of fact he is probably sitting in Brookings right now waiting for the phone to ring and a commitment from anyone who the Bison turned away and is willing to play in Brookings. As are the coaches from UND, USD, UNI, Minnesota and any other school in the region.

Nice, I think you are the 3rd fan from another school that has finally "GOT IT" Thanks for your concern about the Bison.

It's actually the opposite, I just respond to the constant interest from NDSU fans on SDSU's recruiting. Of course their opinions are so warped from reality that they need adjusting.

Nice comeback. I just thought I would summarize the interest in SDSU recruiting in the NDSU recruiting thread on a NDSU board by NDSU fans. Maybe JacksFan should say "Thank you for your interest in SDSU athletics."

Plus all you have to do is read the rest of the thread and you know my summary was actually pretty accurate. Thats the funny part. But seriously good comeback.

Now I see a thread about recruiting concerns, it certainly sticks out. Especially when coaches rarely say negative things about recruiting.

Hopefully this post about SDSU recruiting in the Bison football section won't be deleted as I'm only responding to Bison fans that keep bringing up SDSU here in this section.

I can't say that Stig's Yankton remarks didn't catch me a little off guard, but they were posted second hand on our board from somebody else's perception of what he said. That's a big difference in my mind, wouldn't you agree NDSU Student? I put more stock into the link provided that shows Stig talking about recruiting...especially since it was recorded only days earlier than the remarks in Yankton.

If you look at most MVFC schools (NDSU being the exception) anywhere around a handful reported verbals is normal right now. We have four verbals (three reported) and two of them look to be really solid. Like Grizzled said, if Stig and staff lock down another 5-6 kids that end up being solid players 3-4 years down the road, this would be a good class.

Fact of the matter is, the Bison are always going to have more highly touted recruiting classes than SDSU. You recruit from more major metro areas, recruit kids that are more high profile, and it looks like now recruit kids earlier allowing hype to build. Even in the years that many here have criticized Bohl for poor classes, his recruiting classes were more highly regarded than what SDSU brought in that year. It's been that way the past 5 years and I don't think it's going to change. Obviously the results on the field the past few years show that one method isn't necessarily better than the other.

Hey home boy......this is Bisonville, a message board set up for those interested in NDSU athletics and other associated topics to discuss their views. Since it is our board (sorry Tony, just meaning the collective community) we can discuss what we want (within reason of course). So who is the one visiting? That would be you! Obviously, we are interested in how other teams in the MVFC are doing with their recruiting, especially our closest neighbor. Did I mention that we also have much free time to discuss others recruiting now that NDSU's recruiting is pretty much done?

Not really - with better performance out of our qb we would have won 2 of the last 3. Same thing for the last two years. At this level most teams go as far as their qb will take them. I see both und and sdsu are having a hard time recruiting within the region.
