Not to further derail an NDSU recruiting thread, but is there anywhere one could find info on how all the conference teams are doing recruiting?

In talking to Stig and the coaches over the past couple of days, I couldn't sense much 'fear' or 'worry' in what the coaches had to say about recruiting. Last year was slow recruiting-wise too. I guess I wouldn't put much stock in what fans have to say about recruiting.
This weekend they have their top of the list recruits coming in for visits and they'll go from there.*

It's amazing reading over there it seems as though Stig is just starting to get in touch with recruits...they can't be serious about that can they? Recruiting is all about building relationships...it seems as though Stig just focused on the season, which there is nothing wrong with, and then expects to be able to pick up a phone, send a kid an offer, get him on campus and get a verbal, all in the month of January. If I was a recruit, there is no way in hell that would cut it, have to build a relationship with the kids, and make them feel wanted.
Recruiting is a year round job, even during the season, seems like Stig thinks it is something that can be done in the month of January.

It is amazing and it has to be frustrating for Stig. He had his best year ever and Bohl his worst, but Bohl grabbed the top regional FCS recruits before Stig had a chance to reap the benefits of his success. Going back to what Stig said to the press during the season he thought their new found success would have a positive impact on recruiting. He also thought his game at Minnesota would help attract MN high school talent.
Bohl also has really started to hit Nebraska, which has been a state where SDSU has done well when it comes to recruiting.
once the jacks made the playoffs and nearly beat montana, it didnt matter. a lot of recruits were already pretty much decided and bohl and other coaches were getting after them well before the season even started. as stated above you need to develop relationships and the recruiting process is something that needs to start before the season starts, even earlier. kudos to bohl and his assistants for getting some verbals early and hitting the recruiting trail hard. anybody can point to sdsu's success over us lately but our coaches are out working harder then ever and we've gotten some solid kids thus far. lets hope we can turn this recruiting success into success on the field
