Milwaukee Bradley Tech offensive lineman Quinton Carus (6-4, 310) is currently hearing from a trio of Division I schools that consists of Minnesota, North Dakota State and Northern Iowa.

While no scholarship offers or preferred walk-on invites have been made just yet, Carus did say Minnesota is showing him the most interest at this time.

“I'm planning on visiting Minnesota,” he added.

Carus was a first-team all-conference selection as a junior last season.

We really f'd up on Esala...I have first hand knowledge that he would have committed back in July at the top prospects camp but the offer didn't come them. We offered Turner the same day and Esala was given the "we will have to wait and see" speech. Esala has stated that he is feeling very "jerked around" by his recruiting coach (Dickert).

As I said before, Esala dominatied Costigan and Keys at the July 28th camp. Turner didn't even run the 40 due to his knee issues and looked only fair in drills. Esala has six offers since that time. Mark my words, Esala will be a major stud and we will have missed the boat!!

We grabbed our top five choices at O Line from that camp.

Has he commited somewhere else yet? Recruiting is not easy. Could Esala be better than the players we've offered so far? Absolutely!!!

Let's see how this plays out. He may end up being a Bison after all..

Recruiting is always a bit of a crap shoot and mistakes WILL be made. That said, our fans need to re-read Burgandy's post. The staff likes Esala, but they had a few players ranked higher. They ultimately got commitments from EVERYONE on that list!! They evaluated players first-hand, identified their top priority targets and GOT THEM ALL! If Esala turns out to br better than some or all of them, I will not be shocked--but the staff deserves some credit for landing a group of offensive linemen that they really like.

Every year we seem to get exactly who we want at the time. If our coaches where able to look into a chrystal ball for 3 years into the future I'm sure recruiting would be different. Obviously they can't so nice work to the coaches getting all the guys on the top of their list. Your always going to have young men frustrated if they don't get an offer. If waiting to see if a guy a higher on the list is going to accept an offer is getting "jerked around" by a coach than personally don't think the problem is with the coaches. Every year you hear comments like this during recruiting either about NDSU or other schools and its only going to happen more frequently as offers start to get made earlier and earlier. Just the way recruiting goes. So far it seems our coaches are recruiting and getting the verbals from the kids they want. Only time will tell if these are the right kids though.

Bibeaux was given an extra year of eligibility via hardship, so we won't need another kicker until next year.
