Perceived success is based on the expectation coming into the season, and that is no different in the land of the jackrabbit. If we expect the Jacks to make the playoffs and they don't, we certainly don't view the season as a success, but rather a disappointment (I hold off on calling a season a failure unless I can really find no positive effects on the program produced). It is also to be noted that each fan has different expectations for a season, hence the different post season perspectives.

As for us beating the Bison making the season a success, I think most Jacks fans would agree with me that beating you guys definitely makes the season better, but it certainly doesn't make it a success if the team doesn't meet our exceed our season expectations. For instance; if we went 1-10 with our only win being against the Bison, 99.9% of SDSU fans would NOT view that as a successful season, but it would be used as a defense mechanism if, for some reason, a Bison fan wanted to "remind" us of that season.

It's always good to see local talent sign up.

Seriously, does anybody close to NDSU football know if the coaches are still looking for a QB that can transfer and contribute right away in 2009? I am really surprised this question is not be asked or followed up on by Kolback or any other local media. If for some reason Bohl feels comfortable with where things are at..........
I believe NDSU should be able to do better than Fabry or Jackson.

I think you are right SD. I don't think there is any way they are not looking for another QB. With Jackson off the team, they don't even have enough bodies to practise.

    Saw this on rivals today...

Howard Pulley greatly benefited from the point guard play of Marcus Williams who lead a transition game that pushed a single digit Pulley lead to 20 plus over the St. Louis Eagles. His pestering defense and creation blew the game wide open. Williams is said to be deciding on football/basketball opportunities at North Dakota State, Northern Iowa, and Minnesota (walk-on).

Marcus Williams could be an outstanding cornerback or wide receiver. In hoops, he could be a shutdown defender who could matchup with the Johnathan Jones types. He is a poor shooter, but I think he would be a good compliment to guys like Drew Lundberg and Nate Zastrow who have different skill sets, especially if he doesn't cost Saul a scholly.

Two very large, very late football recruiting battles going on (Chase Stangel and Marcus Williams) with the Bison and UNI in the mix.
