Disclaimer: The information presented here is far from complete and there is no way to tell how accurate it is.

Obviously, this list needs fleshing out so please post away. Don't be alarmed if your post disappears - it just means that I've moved it to the other recruiting thread once I've incorporated its information (that way this thread can act as a quick reference). Hmm, maybe we could keep one post per student-athlete in this thread to hold background information.

    Position Capsules: QB
    • Anders Lee: 6'3, 215, 4.6 40, Edina, MN : Star Tribune Metro POY. NIU (Northern Illinois) and Minnesota are recruiting him as well as a number of other schools for hockey. Some highlights: Highlights(Strib) and Highlights (maxpreps)
    • Tate Chistopherson: 6'1, 190, 4.6 40, Osseo, MN: Honorable Mention MN All-State. Northern Iowa, Wyoming, and NDSU are recruiting him. Highlights (espn.com)
    • Tim Dondanville: 6'3, 180, Springfield (Sacred Heart), IL. 143 of 209 (68.4%), 2,528 yards, 28 touchdowns, 4 Ints - led his team to an Illinois state championship this year running the spread. Got a 30 on his ACT so he's getting plenty of Ivy League interest. He can also run. Highlights (rivals.com)
    • Brock Jensen: 6'3, 210, Waupaca, WI, Lead his team to the WI Division III state championship. 93-158-7 1491 yds and 18 TDs in the air, 193-1227 rushing with 15 TDs (note: those aren't official stats, I pieced them together from two different sources). Plays basketball as well.
    • Brent Jorgensen: 6'2, 185, DePere, WI. Three-sport athlete. 162-278-9, 22 TDs (58.3%).
    • Dustin Lotzer: 6'4, 215, Sisseton, SD: South Dakota Gatorade Player of the Year. 2,791 passing yards for 35 TDs - think his completion rate was around 70%. Also ran for 600+ yards. Being recruited by the Bunnies and the Bison.
    • A.J. Westendorp: 6'2, 210, Holland (Holland Christian): Offered by NDSU. 226 of 325 for 3600 yards, 40 TDs, 4 INTs, and 1 State Championship and also rushed for 1251 yards. And, oh yeah, played LB on defense - 65 tackles (54 solo), 5.5 sacks, and 1 INT (so, really, his net INT is 3) ACT 33! http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=sjqac0Byv_I

    Position Capsules: TE/DL

    • Ryan Drevlow, 6'5, 240, Gwinner, ND (Milnor/North Sargent) Has an offer from NDSU. First-team all-state. A big kid who spends a lot of time in the weight room with good speed (ran the 100 in track along with throwing the shot (school record holder) and discus - also a very good basketball player.
    • Tyler Gimmestad, 6'4, 270, Marshall, MN Verballed to NDSU over offers from UNI, USD, UND, SDSU, and, according to some sources, FBS school Northern Illinois with plenty of interest from BCS schools. He's big and mobile - D2 schools were recruiting him for basketball. If you watch the video below, you'll see that when he pulls on offense, he is really fast. Honorable mention all-state in MN. espn.com scouting report/highlights
    • Ethan Hemer, 6'5, 240, Medford, WI Has offers from Northern Iowa, South Dakota, and Illinois State with interest from Wisconsin (just took his official visit), Colorado State, and NC State. Second team all state, all conference on both sides of the ball (also conference player of the year).
    • Cole Jirik, 6'4, 220, Northfield, MN First team all-state and has an offer from Western Michigan and NDSU that we know, all the other Dakota schools, NIU, UNI, and Buffalo have shown interest - the Gophers want him to walk on.
    • Justin Juckem, 6'5, 240, Chilton, WI *Verbal to NDSU, 12/8/2008* over offers from Washington State, Army, and Boston College. Wissports.net has him as the #5 *overall* prospect in WI and rivals.com has him at #7! 4.6 40 and a very good multi-sport athlete. Wissports.net article with lots of good info
    • Taylor Nelson, 6'5, 230, Minnetonka, MN A tight-end prospect (I think) with offers from Northern Iowa, NDSU and UND with a lot of contact from Iowa State, Northern Illinois (NIU), and Colorado State. Averaged over 20 yards a reception and is an excellent basketball player.
    • Kevin Vaadeland, 6'4, 225, Park Rapids, MN *Verbal to NDSU, 6/24/2008* A WR/RB/LB and multi-sport star. I have even less of an idea where NDSU will put him on the field - could be a linebacker, fullback, DE, TE - very versatile. Highlight video (credit to Erik Lofdahl who does minnesotapreps.com)
    • Austin Brzezinski, 6'4, 200 Amherst, WI Another versatile player - played WR, TE, and RB but is listed as a TE on most recruiting sites. Good speed (4.6 40) and runs sprints as well as long jump/triple jump in track.
    • Caleb Nelson, 6'3, 260, Forman (Sargent Central), ND Played RB/DL in HS so I suppose he could be a fullback too. I'm thinking interior defensive line, ala Gratzek though.
    • Danny Leucke, 6'5, 225, Fargo (South), ND Multi-sport athlete, big frame, first-team All-state at tightend.

    Changes

    • Updated the "Interest" section to show which schools some of those players have made verbals to.
    • Updated Sam Ojuri's status to Verbal
    • Moved Cooper Wahlo Jr from Interest to Offered (Rivals.com has him as having an offer)
    • Fixed some typos and correctly updated a recruit to show that he was going to USD not NIU (USD got a recruit that NDSU offered! They have really spanned the globe looking for players, btw, Nevada, Colorado, Illinois, etc.)

It looks like Calhoun the big reciever out of Santa Ana CA had a great visit.

    http://www.ocvarsity.com/articles/ab...73545-usc-utah

The all-league wide receiver took a football recruiting trip to North Dakota State.

“It has one of the top engineering programs in the nation,” he said in a phone interview during his visit. “It (the school’s location) is not a deterrent at all. … I want to major in mechanical engineering or civil engineering.”

For this recruit, education really does come first.

He was quick to say that he wants to earn a degree that will garner him respect in the workplace.

Powell-Calhoun also has taken a recruiting trip to the University of North Dakota, another strong engineering school, and this coming weekend, he heads to Sacramento State.

All three have offered the 6-foot-4, 205-pounder a full scholarship. Cal Poly SLO, Delaware, Richmond and San Diego State also have shown interest in Powell-Calhoun, Segerstrom’s first Division I football recruit.

As for North Dakota, he has enjoyed the state.

“The university community has kind of a small town feel to it,” he said. “Most of all, the people are really nice. They’ll open their door to you if you need it.”
