And here's the article on Blaine beating 2 time defending state champ Eden Prairie.

This sounds like exactly the kind of kid we need. Some key quotes from the article.

"Peterson (6-3, 202) clearly was the best player on the field, all but willing his team to victory. A victory he refused to call an upset."

"He's phenomenal,'' (Coach) Gerrety said. "I've been telling people all along. He has been a difference-maker in every game we have played this season"

"Peterson, who threw and ran the ball with authority all game.."
Sounds like a very interesting kid to at least look into more about. By those quotes, sounds like he has those intangibles that you either have or don't.

ESPN has some different recruits that are interested in us. I dont know how accurate it is but they have a few on there.

I'm interested to hear where you guys think we have some holes that some JUCO's might fill in next year. Here are my thoughts:

    CB: Freshman only
Safety: Juco to compete with Belmont and Lemon for starters next year.
    Linebacker: Freshman only
DE: Juco, we need depth there with Nick and Joe leaving. I'm curious if they don't give Bussy a look at that spot. (ala Nick Compton's move from linebacker to DE). He has the size.
DT: Juco...you just can't have enough of those guys.
WR: Freshman only: its been a bad year to gage, but I think one of the younger guys is going to step up next year...just a gut feel.
    TE: Freshman only
    FB: Freshman only
    QB: Juco to push Mertens
    RB: Freshman only
    OL: Freshman only
Return specialist: Freshman only: it would be nice to get a game breaker from a JUCO, but I bet those guys get snatched up pretty quick.
Wide receiver. We're losing our top 2 WR's and (allegedly) our top pass catching TE.

Defensive End. I like what I've seen from Boyer and Johnson but losing your starters is tough to handle.

    Quarterback. Nuff said.

one would probably argue that Schultenover is our #2 WR right now and he will be back..... Seriously I doubt anyone misses belquist.

Our other WR, who knows gotta have someone get them the ball to see if they are any good or not.

Lakesbison may be an idiot, but in the end he's our idiot.

Can we pretend that Jose Mohler passes are like shooting stars, cuz I would wish for a new O coordinator.

Belquist was a pretty solid receiver when Walker was the QB but this year it's like he's taken a step back. Remember how well Belquist produced vs the Gophers? Or could it be the QB? Or a combo of the 2?

He's been on my $(!+ list since he dropped the TD that would have set the tone for the Western Illinois Game.

I like him and his story. Small kid from Western ND breaks the starting lineup.

FYI-Belquist is from New Rockford, ND which is just north of Carrington. That is not in Western ND.

The second one down on the wisconsin recruiting list doesn't add up. 11.7 100 M does not equal a 4.47 40 M. Either they meant to say 10.7 or something is fishy. 11.7 100 M is not fast, that isn't even close to qualifying for state in ND
