And you are discussing DEI and commenting how females refs suck not because you know the particulars or this person's hiring decision, but because you disagree with a call she or some other female official once made. Maybe THAT's the problem???

Just curious, do you have evidence that any of the current female refs were given favorable promotions based on their sex and not merit, or are you just assuming that because they are female, it’s the only plausible explanation for them having the job?

Everyone hired is based on merit. The only thing that's really changed is that if you weren't a white male, you had very little chance of getting selected from that merit pool. Now conferences are making a more concerted effort to look broader in that merit pool to select the type of people who weren't selected previously. Are there some who are maybe selected a little early? Absolutely. But that was also true when they only selected white males.
