May be a case where the old data from last year is messing with the model. When he dumps the old data, the rankings improve.

Must be. Both teams they've beaten are still ranked ahead of them.

It will be until like week 6 before prior year data is removed.

If sac didn't pull away in the final minutes last night, sdsu would be way lower imo.

Mercyhurst had a real shot to win that game vs sac st, and turned a chance to win into multiple ints.

Sac st is very bad, it looks like their strategy will require several years to implement. Which is fairly normal in football.

Mercyhurst has a better offense than SDSU, lol I dont know how I can type that with a straight face. It was 35-28 in the 4th qtr(then mercyhurst threw 2 picks). Mercyhursts qb looks like hes 5'7.

Sdsu only managed 20 points vs sac st.

Imo, from what Ive seen this year, sdsu and msu are almost identical and suffer from the same offensive problems.

The sagarin gap between the two doesn't pass the eye test.

As for is ndsu worthy of a ranking of 42? Who knows. We've only played garbage the entire year. We look good, and our weakness is clearly run blocking at this point.

My guess at this point in the season is that tarelton is probably #1 or 2, ndsu is the other, and sdsu and msu are 3 and 4.

I don't think the griz can challenge ndsu with the state of their defensive backfield. So it looks to be a solidly 4 team race, and possibly tarelton is the best. Hard to say.

P.s. I do think tarelton coming out of no where is a great sign for the fcs. Though I sort of doubt tarelton is still fcs in 2030.

Sagarin has an interesting webpage, he has a link to this article, which is interesting and a bit ahead of its time.
