South Dakota standout left tackle Joe Cotton is entering the transfer portal, his agency @QCSports tells @chris_hummer and me.

The 6-foot-7, 315-pound Cotton was all-conference in 2024 and an FCS Freshman All-American in 2023. Will be entering with a do not contact tag.

South Dakota all-conference LB Gary Bryant is entering the transfer portal, a source tells @247Sports/@CBSSportsCFB.

Bryant posted 103 tackles, 4 TFLs and 2 INTs last season as a sophomore.

I had the same thought. Maybe a couple weeks of spring practice under the new regime isn’t sitting well? I’m frankly surprised by the transfers.
