    Default 2025-2026 Roster

May as well get this started to discuss changes to the roster.

As mentioned in another thread, Jacari is in the portal. Presumably to utilize his JC bonus year and get some cash. He'd have POTY potential if he stayed.

Moni, Kasubke, and Mason Miller are seniors and gone.

Burke is a senior, but played at a juco and may be eligible for another year. I don't see any way he returns. Dave misused him this year, and cut his games played from 29 to 14. 3 of the 14 games played, he got 1 minute. There were times we needed athleticism and rebounding on the court, and Dave pretty much ignored him.

DWT, used his redshirt. Hopefully, he doesn't pull a Wisznewski and returns healthy.

Tajavis was a stud once Dave released him from the doghouse. Other than Moni, he was a guy who could create and score in the clutch. I hope he comes back.

Watkins was solid to start, but faded late. Looking back, I think Stefonowicz could have benefitted from more minutes early on. I'd be shocked if Watkins starts over Stefonowicz next year. Watkins will get sparse minutes if he stays and DWT returns.

Fedderson was a huge disappointment, IMO. Inconsistent and played small too often. I hope he comes back, but he needs to play more aggressive.

Dissette and Anderson should get bigger roles next year. I would have liked to see Bath get some extra minutes. I'm guessing at least one of these 3 leave.

No idea about Bradley or Carson Smith.

I'd guess we'll need to replace at least 6 roster spots. It's possible it could be 8 or 9 spots.

Thoughts on who'll be on the roster next season.?

North Dakota State, a football team the big boys of college football should avoid like the plague, helped christen a $90 million renovation to Snyder Family Stadium — including a statue of famed Kansas State coach Bill Snyder himself — by taking a sledgehammer to the place.

I think all 5 that were recognized at senior day will be gone. Obviously Moni, Miller and Kasubke are out of years and Jacari (already has) and Burke will use their juco extra year and enter the portal.

As for the younger guys, I think its likely Bath transfers down a level and would not be surprised if DWT also enters the portal.

Who knows on Bradley and Smith, Bradley was hurt all year and Smith was not anywhere near the rotation.

Would like to think the rest return but needless to say there will be a lot of turnover going into next season.

I could actually see Watkins being the one that ends up leaving. If DWT and Andy both stay, I don't think there's much for minutes to be had for Watkins but there's definitely worse things than having 3 point guards. I don't think Burke sticks around even if he uses his extra year, Dave seems to hate him. I'm thinking Andersen could move Feddy back to the 4 spot with Moni gone, Bath could rotate some at the 4 but we'd still need another big and then also need some wing shooters to replace Jacari and Masen. It seemed like this group was much tighter knit than in previous years and not sure anybody else would land big NIL money so hopefully everyone else stays as we can build around them. I believe the only recruit we have signed is Riley Massey, a 6'3 G so even if nobody else leaves with the roster limit bumping to 15 we'll have at least 4 scholarships to work with if not 5, depends on if they give Bradley one.

As of today I would start:
    Andy
    Tajavis
    Dissette
    Feddersen
    Andersen

But we need to find some extra shooting in the portal. I know Bradley can shoot it but no idea if he can defend at this level. Carson Smith is a guy Dave said on the coaches show that has really been putting in the work this year but not sure if that means he'll find a meaningful role or not.

Dom said yesterday that he doesn't believe DWT is coming back. He also mentioned, "some behind the scenes stuff going on" regarding DWT.

Anyone know anything about Dom's comments?

Last fall on a hot mic show DR said that dwt had a stress fracture in one leg
and had a rod in it.

DWT didn't play this year because they wanted to get him fully healthy. I don't know if that means they removed that rod or if he just needed to rest it to heal it properly.

I believe he had a clean up procedure done on it this offseason and then they took it easy this season to try to let him fully heal for a change, he hasn't really been fully healthy since he got to NDSU so hopefully he'd back stronger than ever. But we shall see if he survives portal combat. The good news is I think he's more valuable at NDSU than anyone else will see since he didn't play last year but could still opt for a fresh start.

Update: Watkins and Dissette join Jacari in the portal. It's now looking like we'll need to replace 8 or 9 roster spots.
