If you can't guarantee them the number of tickets they want, they won't schedule you.
But not all teams fans travel well. Ive been to Big 10 games where the opposing fans were basically non existent. But there is a pretty easy fix. You just freeze all unsold season tix and hold back single game tickets to meet that request.
