Bison fans are blessed. Enjoy it.
Dillan Johnson to Northwestern for both Football and Wrestling.
Huge get for them in both sports. He could be their best wrestler very early on and received interest from all over the B12, B1G, and Notre Dame for football.
NDSU FB and wrestling were interested.
That removes the two big HWT targets in the class of 2024, and we’re still exceptionally bare at HWT
I have yet to see a football/wrestling dual athlete make both work. There are three high caliber athletes trying it out next year in Jimmy Mullins (VT), Ben Kueter (Iowa) and now Johnson. All three are AA caliber in wrestling yet you probably won’t see all of them on the mat which is too bad.

Josh Hokit was the last one to do it at a high level in both sports from what I can remember.

It is tough to make both work at this level. In HS you can do both but people move to a more specialized track Ning regime and things change quickly. If
NDSU got a commitment from Kody Tanimoto out of Texas. He was a Greco Runner up in Fargo, a Texas state champ, and profiles as a career 125 (he's reallllllly short).
He was on a visit with HWT Sebastian Lopez out of Kansas, John Alden a 133/141 out of Nebraska, and Tristan Steldt (Class of 25) out of Wisconsin. Steldt is the highest profile of the bunch and was a 2022 Greco national champ and profiles around 174.
Not sure what, if anything, you can read into the recruiting strategy based on those states and pedigrees. Seems like they like Greco guys and are trying to find diamonds in the rough rather than chasing higher profile guys.
