I agree with you as I was mainly posting facts about Cams season in comparison to Brock’s season. I do feel it should be an open competition but Cam hasn’t been bad. The defense was a major problem but the offense still could have been better as they could not get it done in big games when needed except for maybe Incarnate Word.
    If it flies it dies.

Long for the days of freezing in the south stands of Dacotah Field.

LOL, now I know how far Bison team expectations have dropped when fans describe our starting QB as "hasn't been bad". Is that just a tad above sorta good, at times better than OK, or just slightly better than mediocre?

I’ll say it. Cam has been good. The benchmark is high and that’s also good. But with the team we had this year we needed better than just “good” at QB (in addition to better O scheme and playcalling). Is Cole the answer? Not sure but I’m willing to give it a chance.

I wonder how much a healthy Hunter might have impacted that outcome.
Meh.... defense being bad was biggest issue.

Yep, we won a few Natty’s with just good offenses. Great defense has been the consistent in our championship teams. This years defense was not championship quality.

That said I think our biggest issue on offense is our OC. It’s not a QB issue!

I just think they need an open unbiased competition this spring and not just give it to Cam because he's been the starter. Best guy needs to be out there, if that's Cam great, if it's Cole or someone else then they should be the starter.
I agree with this part, but I can't erase the memory of the Zeb and Quincy experiments where coaches chose not to put the best player on the field.

While I totally agree, the best defense is a fresh one sitting on the sideline watching a 9 minute drive. At times, our offense wore down our defense

There are a myriad of things wrong with this team really. Entz, ML, TR and the new DC are gonna have to earn their paychecks the next couple of years, or not have one coming from NDSU if they don’t.
