A lot of the kids I talk to are specifically looking for an alternative to the U because of its setting, but not always. I recently talked to a kid from central MN who had NDSU, Wisconsin, and Iowa State as his final three
judging by ndsu move in day, I was blown away at so many kids choosing NDSU. will we see a bump this year?
NDSU TO FBS. HAVEN'T WE WON ENOUGH?

Looks like enrollment peaked 8 years ago, and has been slowly declining ever since.
Even a small reversal of that trend would be a good sign.

National enrollment figures show the same trend, so there’s that. But yes, we need to get this thing headed the right direction again.
Mountain West, hope for the best.

The enrollment at SCSU and Mankato can be 100% attributed to their proximity to the MSP metro area. That’s not to say that they don’t offer positives for students. Just that their location allows them to be a bit “less” than NDSU or SDSU and still get students to come. Students know the difference between the schools.

As an MSU grad and current MSP resident, MSU doesn’t have nearly the pull you would think out of MSP. MNSCU only recently stated pushing MSU as system flagship and its a after thought to the kids around me in the west metro. If I was stack ranking non-FBS non-privates it goes, NDSU UND>MSU UMD>USD SDSU>Non-Madison WI schools>St Cloud. The dislike of St Cloud by the metro is real.

Yep...I've heard we are down again overall. Our new students might be up slightly, but we aren't retaining enough students to see growth.

I don't care what Jim says. That is not the real Ben Franklin. I'm 99% certain.

How is your databank missing such valuable information?
My logic function has difficulty when multiple articles about the success or failure of multiple FCS programs “moving up” don’t focus on a Boise type success.
