The P3 will survive by raiding the G5 and the G5 will survive by raiding lesser G5/FCS. If any conference dies, it will be CUSA. P3/G4 will consolidate as the 2nd level. No question, the PAC would choose to become G5-level conference before it chooses to die. But I think even that’s a stretch …

Here’s another prediction - NDSU will easily make the cut to the 2nd level but UND will not, and I’d say the majority of their fanbase agrees. D1 FCS is the perfect place for a hockey school in a state like ND, and I’d wager the SBOHE agrees too. Competing at the 2nd level of CFB is not going to be a cheap endeavor …

In this round of consolidation it's the P2 armoring up fiscally. From that viewpoint, a G5 is an FCS.

For comparison I put the highest and lowest MAC (plus median) with the Dakota 4 (Revenue, Expenses, FB spending) here. Two of the Dakota 4 fit right into that chart, but not the two you'd guess.

Yes, maybe its 3/2 not 2/3, who knows, but it will be really tough for all programs currently in the P5 to compete with B1G and SEC

I recognized it. I just didn't acknowledge it. You more RedHat or Debian?

I usually reinstall every few years and try to rotate distros. Fedora 18 was my first try at that one and poisoned me towards it. Would still pick CentOS(now Rocky) for servers. Debian is great but feels limited. I ran Arch for a long time but systemd completely hosed me and I went back to Mint for awhile. On Manjaro now.

Of course not, but that's not what you said. You said G5 and FCS will become equivalent in the eyes of P2 in the future landscape of CFB, and that's just bullshit. There's a clear D1 hierarchy that will only become amplified by realignment. To make that equivalence is nothing more than wishful thinking on your part, as a Fighting Hawk fan
