Our Lady of South Bend is putting the screws to NBC, 75 million screws.
That tells me the B1G threw them a number that would have them strongly consider giving up their beloved independent status.

NDSU is ALREADY LOSING ITS FANBASE & MONEY BY STAYING FCS
can't you people see that? hello hello. us FBS fans have been telling you this for 5 years now that it's coming.
the AD has ZERO motivation to try he's just happy to be here, he and phelps were at fucking pud Stony Brook 7 Years ago, Dean fell in love & wanted to retire, good for him.
HOWEVER HERE WE ARE. I am literally the only one pushing this 5 years ago and the last few years others have joined and seen the light.
make a backroom deal with MWC and get it done or PLAN for a new 45,000 stadium & pitch the big 12
NDSU TO FBS. HAVEN'T WE WON ENOUGH?![]()
I'm curious what you think my answer would be. FCS and FBS have different NCAA rules. A football only conference is viable in FCS but not in FBS. A bunch of D2 to D1 transition teams is completely different than our current situation. NDSU didn't join the GW, we founded it WITH A REGIONAL PARTNER in SDSU and a known rival in Northern Colorado. In the end all the founding members got Summit/MVFC or Big Sky invites, but in an alternate universe the Great West could easily have become the D1 NCC v2. Whether that's better than what we have now is worth its own thread.

We all live in stories... It seems to me that a definition of any living vibrant society is that you constantly question those stories... The argument itself is freedom. It's not that you come to a conclusion about it. Through that argument you change your mind sometimes... That's how societies grow. When you can't retell for yourself the stories of your life then you live in a prison... Somebody else controls the story. - S. Rushdie
