If Oregon state and Washington state don’t get into the big 12 then I really doubt NDSU’s chances of getting into the MWC. Would Boise or Co St be any better position to get into the big 12?

PAC stays at 10 and we hope the Big12's expansion lust is real. Nothing happens until 2026, most likely, when MWC TV deal gets redone. But who really knows. I never see this coming when it happens.
Like BigHorns never misses an opportunity to point out, MVFC isn't that bad, and NDSU is very well positioned within the MVFC. It's certainly better than CUSA, IMO ...
Looking forward to the season. Take a little anger out on the AZ Wildcats
We definitely want the pac 12 to lose a minimum of 2 more. Its the only way. That will get the Big 12 and Pac 12 fighting over Boise and Colorado State. I think the Big 12 wants them since they can try and kill the PAC12 or make their next TV deal less appealing. I think Boise would prefer to be aligned with the coast

I'd like to see us make a move to the right conference, for the right reasons. Not something stupid out of desperation, or even purely for some additional cash.
It would be nice (but not necessary) to have some schools like Montana and SDSU involved. Just not at all motivated to see us "move up" and then be playing SHSU, JSU, and maybe SFA and Tarleton.
Why would the PAC 12 not offer Gonzaga like yesterday? Doesn't help football but you can't get much better for basketball

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. Let me preface by saying that I think NDSU should be playing in the 2nd tier of college football.
Let's say that CFP basically becomes a battle of the 2 mega conferences (SEC/B1G) and raids the best of the former P5 schools to join them, why would they EVER go out of conference for their "extra" games? They'd have zero need to if they both get to ~20 teams (which I don't really think is unrealistic).
Assuming that the bulk of the following teams end up in one of the 2 new power conferences, why would they schedule "down" a level ever?
Ohio State
Notre Dame
Michigan
Texas
Florida
Georgia
Michigan State
Texas A&M
Oregon
Alabama
Kentucky
North Carolina
Indiana
Baylor
Oklahoma
USC
Nebraska
Penn State
Tennessee
LSU
Miami
Florida State
Auburn
Georgia
Clemson
Minnesota
Washington
Pittsburgh
Georgia Tech
Virginia Tech
Miami
Colorado
Wisconsin
Kansas State
Oklahoma
Cincinnati
Iowa
Ole Miss
Oklahoma State
North Carolina
Arkansas
Iowa State
NC State
Wake Forest
etc....
There goes the lucrative cash cow of a G5 playing a P5. There goes the TV money and everything that goes with it. I think that would honestly hurt those teams that are already funding G5/P5 even more than those teams that are funding FCS. No doubt there will be a restructuring of G5 (or what we currently know as G5) but I think they will end up shedding a lot of dead weight programs and looking to replace them with schools more committed (and financially capable) of making a move to G5. As crazy as it sounds, the smart move might have been to stay FCS afterall. It sucks though, because (in my scenario) we'll just end up playing a lot of the same teams we've always played, along with a few "bigger" conference foes (whether that be the likes of Boise St or Central Michigan).
Again, I'm not saying that we shouldn't explore ALL options to remain 2nd tier, I just don't think that it will matter much if the move happens tomorrow or in 3 years and it might be a better financial move to wait.
I'm NOT an FCS forever guy, I was advocating a move to ANY G5 conference that would take us. I'm only posting this for talking points/fodder as NONE of us have a crystal ball to see where the big schools are heading
