I know this was posted 2 months ago, but there is a twitter discussion about it yesterday, people want NDSU in the FBS around the country. We gotta stop "chasing trophies" and move up

NDSU TO FBS. HAVEN'T WE WON ENOUGH?![]()
"What's wrong with you people? Go back to your shanties." Shooter McGavin
This is actually a pretty good read, but it clearly doesn't say "NDSU should go FBS at any/all costs"
It says Independent is a no-go, and MWC is the right spot.
MWC is clearly the right home for NDSU when an opening occurs. MAC would be a so-so transitional home. Anything else would be foolish.
I am wondering what the pitch is that NDSU will try to convince the MW to invite them..
That article says right out that NDSU would just look at it as a temporary fix until the Big 10 comes a-calling..
Are you asking football only? Are you demanding travel subs..or no travel subs?
Are you asking the MW to waive the entrance fee? are you asking for a separate tv deal with ESPN?
I would guess you wouldn't make any demands but that article makes it sound like the MW would be delighted to have you come onboard..
Maybe it will happen, but what exactly is in it for the MW ? Particularly if all you would be doing is looking to leave..
NDSU would stay Mountain West for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time unless the big 12 needs someone (not the Big 10, that was hyperbole)
NDSU ideally would want Football ONLY, but at this point ALL SPORTS almost looks better for NDSU & MWC
We don't need travel subs, we aren't POOR
MW can keep the entrance fee, TV statewide/regionally is important for NDSU but can work with ESPN for a hybrid deal somehow or simulcast
MW would have a nationally recognized FOOTBALL program on par with Boise State.

yes we have acknowledged that this was just a fun article and the writer saying NDSU to big 10 was strictly for clicks.
try and follow along und2 fan...
MWC. Ha Boise had a down year, surprising, maybe Chris Peterson recruits leaving had something to do with it.
NDSU should fly down & sit in an office with Craig Thompson or a Golf Course and say:
NDSU would do Football Only & Pick up Hotels/Flights for 5 MWC games for 1st 3 seasons.
NDSU would take a smaller share on ESPN TV revenue if we can keep our regional/statewide tv deal in addition to ESPN.
Put a $10 Million exit Fee for 10 years on NDSU.
NDSU would play 1 Conference game at US BANK Stadium per year showcasing MWC teams in the 2 million Metro area
.Boom signed.

Still not seeing the upside for the MW..The conference has contracts with CBS and Fox..A special deal for you with ESPN would not be welcomed. The MW already has games in large metro areas. Hawaii pays a subsidy for every home game every season. 5 games over 3 years won't get you in..
Is the MW responsible for facilitating NDSU's ambition..? The MW didn't take on Boise until 2011 after they had been FBS for 15 years. This is not a desperate or unstable conference.. They can afford to be choosy and can ride out any defections..
You have a an excellent football program but almost zero history with any of the schools in the MW..They have all been playing each other for decades..That means something..
