The North Texas main campus is about 25 miles away from the Frisco stadium, they even have a satellite campus in Frisco among other places. North Texas has over 40,000 students, probably most from the DFW area. Probably a gazillion alumni in DFW. The game temperature was 75 degrees. Attendance wasn’t even half full. Pathetic for such a large, local school.
Such is the life of G5 schools in the 1 game bowl season.

NDSU hasn’t had a team as bad as either team in 10 years. The Frisco bowl will happen in down years but it is not the goal. The goal at least right away, would be to run the table, win the conference (both no different than we attempt now), win conference championship and get a NYE bowl. It would probably happen once in our first 10 years. The long term plan is to continue to grow the brand, program, fan base and see where it takes us.
The teams playing would’ve lost in the first round of the FCS playoffs, check Sagarin and Massey. They didn’t have good seasons and rightfully so their fans didn’t travel en masse.
Comparing the Frisco bowl to the FCS championship is comparing apples and oranges.
Mountain West, hope for the best.
