When you play football, you gotta like the taste of blood, And 50 percent of the time, it's your blood.
You don't give out trophies for losing. Trophies for sucking. That's a communist idea. You don't get a trophy for losing. You get a piece of pizza and you shut up. Trophies for losing? What the hell happened to us?

Yep. You’re right. Shut down the program and put Moorhead back on the schedule. No use in aspiring to anything else.
I think it would be very naive to think that the majority of fans make plans prior to the semis. I think fans will start to adjust to the bowl configuration too. To fans that enjoy NDSU football they will make it a priority. Keeping fans as engaged as possible is the key because they will find a way to incorporate it into their lives when they get enjoyment from it. It’s ridiculous to claim we would get 25k to any destination in the near future but it’s just as ridiculous to think that a bowl game would get much less than the FCS championship. Rip on Chapo all you want for his outlandish claims but I will call out you for yours as well. NDSU has a good fan base. It will travel if given a reason.

This 100%. Like all people with radical positions, they sling mud at “the other side” while spouting a bunch of nonsense themselves. Truth is usually somewhere in the middle. Here id say: NDSU should be trying harder to be FBS, fans will travel regardless.
Toilet bowl game? Three of the four teams playing in Frisco bowls this year are better than all four remaining FCS teams. Yes that includes us.
Mountain West, hope for the best.
That doesn't make it a good bowl game. December 21 (a tuesday lol), December 23...NDSU fans wouldn't bring half of what they bring to Frisco currently for a bowl game where the shiny trophy isn't involved. So yes...check the attendance of those games, check the atmosphere of those games. It'll be absolutely nowhere near Friday night.
I dont think "how many fans will travel to bowl games on or around Christmas" should be considered.
That said, I think there would be a decent continent of people going. Good excuse to go on a trip and see new places.
I get there is a group of people who are content to go do the same thing every year but other places are fun too.
I sorta wonder how much of it is people geeking on local businesses rolling out the red carpet for them? They'll do that for you in Birmingham, Orlando, Vegas, wherever too.

I got excited for the sdsu vs Montana state game. Made me realize that that's some of what ndsu misses out on with home games for playoff all the time. Some quality road games is exactly what we need be it at the fbs or fcs level. Getting harder and harder to do with the fcs. We at least need home and homes with big sky schools.

I think Bowl games would still bring a good contingent...although the mix of people might change a bit. I can see both sides of this thing.
One thing to consider is that our fan bases reputation would help a bit in the bowl selection department, even compared to quite a few FBS programs. If you think FCS playoff selection is not football results driven.....wait until you look into bowl games.

a NDSU travelling fanbase will only ENHANCE our Bowl Game choices.
NDSU in Vegas or Arizona for a Bowl game brings 20,000-25,000 easily
