SEC champ, B1G champ, ACC and/or PAC 10 champ, and a one-loss SEC team (Georgia/LSU/Auburn/TAMU/etc.) all have stronger resumes in the eyes of the committee in the current 4 team model. I'd also think if Texas or Oklahoma were one-loss teams with their lone loss coming against Kansas that there would be the "outlier" argument.

I think the point is though, that realistically, the mountains that programs like kansas, syracuse, illinois, rutgers, vanderbilt , wake forest etc. would have to climb to go undefeated are so insanely high that it will never statistically happen. Like winning the lottery, yes it is POSSIBLE, but it may as well be impossible because the chance is so miniscule.
Teams like Baylor, TCU OK State have all had their best seasons in school history and still have not made a playoff in those particular years. there is almost zero chance they could make a 4 team playoff- its really only possible/likely way they make it is in a 12 team playoff
Time to join our peers in the FBS. Do WHATEVER it takes. Also... consider firing ML. any CEO who is 5-10 years behind the tide/movement gets fired. Why do we accept this with ML?
