The SSS chant at games, it is hardly audible. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I remember hearing it.

I guess you were not at the Weber St. game this weekend, near the student section? Honestly, most of these kids don't remember the last game we played these fools yet they are chanting this at a WEBER STATE game.

I was nowhere near the student section and honestly I don't care what students chant and really nobody should. It was hardly audible when I was a student.

I am having trouble understanding your point then. Are you suggesting it is not audible or you (yourself) have not heard this chant at a recognizable level?

I'm in 17 also and it was louder than normal this week. Usually it's pretty weak. The conviction just isn't there. It has been passed down...but the feeling isn't there like it was when I was a student. It will eventually die when we stop scheduling them. Playing them will only revive the chant.

I have been going to Bison games for a my entire life, I remember when the chant echo'd across the entire stadium. I haven't heard a chant like that for sometime.

I understand the argument that playing them just gives them unearned credibility and attention. But by that logic isn't using the Sioux Suck Shit chant at every game even when they don't involved UND doing the exact same thing?

I have heard this chant at every game I have attended. Is it a BIG chant? That is in the mind of the listener (proximity, number of participants, etc).

I agree with the poster that the existence of this chant, in games that don't involve the sundogs, gives them credibility. We care about these fools, therefore they matter.

Yeah, trips to Ames, Manhattan, Kinnick, Colorado State, Minnesota haven't been fun or helped us. In my opinion, those types of games help WAY more to the state of ND than a game with a horrible team - regardless of whether it's the Sue or someone else. I wish UND would work hard to get another FBS school on their calendar and work even harder to beat them versus whine about needing this game and why NDSU won't schedule them. BOTH schools beating FBS schools would be huge (think GameDay, etc.) for the state versus a game just because.

So if we had a hockey team as shitty as their football team...they'd schedule us and play in Fargo on our sheet of ice, right?

I am looking forward to the game like any other game...but will continue to hope we schedule games (Oregon, are you kidding me?) that any objective person sees as better for our FB team, our university and the state. Please keep scheduling awesome games like Montana, Iowa, Oregon, etc. until the Sue are relevant.

I agree, Ames, Manhattan, etc. do way more for a program that a small interstate rivalry. The rivalry is fun for fan, and alumni but doesn't "grow" a program. So there is still something to be said for the game, but not in terms of growing or developing a program.

For the record this is NOT me bringing up hockey. I don't think it would be out of the question. We schedule home and home series with Bemidji St. Plus there are more games in a season for hockey, so more opportunity to schedule away games.

Pretty cool that you guys scheduled Orgeon, that is really big time. Hope you guys have a competitive showing in the game, for real. I don't care who your are, you have a close game (as a FCS team) against Oregon, I'll pull for ya. Pretty badass if you can schedule and hang with a team like that.
