The recruiting process is not exact. Some of the "best" high school players do not pan out and then you get someone that comes out of nowhere and is a huge player. This goes just as well in the draft process as well. Tom Brady was not a 1st round pick but Ryan Leaf was. You have to trust in your coaches in all levels that their are able to see what the player is doing and able to improve on. Have them fit into your system and play nice with teammates. Not all players are fit for all systems. To bury your head in the sand and not look "outside" your area for players is foolish. Yes I will admit when a player comes from some distance there could be added issues like homesick, weather and culture shock. But I am sure the coaches ask all the right questions to these players. Bottom line is no matter where a player comes from if they truly want to be at the school they are at they will stay and do their best.
