How loud are B-52's that low? Like compared to F-15's, ect? Louder, the same?

These days, fighters are probably capable of being much louder. The turbojet-powered B-52 models are all long retired and all that are left are the H model with quiet(er) turbofans.

When I was a lad, a buddy and I decided to go camping in the woods on one of his uncle's farms near Emerado. That night a B-52 came low over our camping spot. Maybe it was the situation but it felt like the world had just been thrown into a really big garbage disposal. So, yeah, louder than an F-15.

When i was in high school, i accidentally shot the starters pistol in the crows nest while running the clock for a jv football game. Im guessing a B-52 fly over is that loud.

I'd be willing to bet that a B1 Bomber taking off is still louder than B52s.

Last year, in Frisco... there were reports of a low flying (LOUD) B-52, because many ppl didn't know about the FCS Nat'l Championship flyover!

I've heard they can't fly over the Alerus because the tin roof....is rusted.

I had to ask the General (who spoke at dad's funeral) & he said that the B1 is definitely the loudest, because they have afterburners, & even without those, they are still very LOUD!
