I am ashamed to say, the 1st International Bank in Killdeer added to their sign today: UND VS NDSU, The Most Valuable Nickel In ND. Please let this week end!

My daughter got her student ticket but just barely. Her friend missed out and is number 1057 on the student waiting list. I guess the student tickets went in one minute....wow!!!
This game should have a ton of energy!!
Not an engineer, but isn't a ton a measure of mass?
is this a trick question e=mc2?
Day 1 so far not NDSU-UND week and a ton of articles that are very pro-UND. Even the NCAA has an article and a video by Bubba. This is the best press UND has gotten in a very long time. Even the Bison Video Blog devoted almost all their video to the days when UND was relevant. It is going to be a long week. No real way for NDSU to look good unless we beat the tar out of the no namers on Saturday.
I can't wait for this to be over so we can move on to games that actually count.
I'm more excited for the game and want to win because you know damn well if we lose, no matter how many National Championships we win or how many FBS wins we have, or as many College Gamedays we get... we have to listen to Darryl, Star2 City, DaveK, Sioux Volley, etc for 3 years and that would suck big time. The worm is turning type stuff. Do we really want to hear THAT?
I understand the argument that playing them just gives them unearned credibility and attention. But by that logic isn't using the Sioux Suck Shit chant at every game even when they don't involved UND doing the exact same thing?
Live look-in of me after seeing any link/headline regarding this game. Not clicking, no way, no how. I'm sticking to BV all week for any pertinent information regarding the gong show.

They have won just getting to play this game. It is a joke.
I feel sorry for them. .( Well, not really)
This whole thing is just one big joke... On them.
Lull them into thinking they are somebody, then name them Sundogs.
Why won't bottom tier P-5 schools return our phone calls? For the same reason we shouldn't be playing these dipwads. Sioux suck.
I guess you were not at the Weber St. game this weekend, near the student section? Honestly, most of these kids don't remember the last game we played these fools yet they are chanting this at a WEBER STATE game.
NCAA said there is no such thing any more.
I'm in 17 also and it was louder than normal this week. Usually it's pretty weak. The conviction just isn't there. It has been passed down...but the feeling isn't there like it was when I was a student. It will eventually die when we stop scheduling them. Playing them will only revive the chant.
I have been going to Bison games for a my entire life, I remember when the chant echo'd across the entire stadium. I haven't heard a chant like that for sometime.
The poster I originally responded to made it seem like there is some big chant every game. There isn't, just a few students weakly chanting it.
The poster you responded to stated this:
I have heard this chant at every game I have attended. Is it a BIG chant? That is in the mind of the listener (proximity, number of participants, etc).Quote:
I understand the argument that playing them just gives them unearned credibility and attention. But by that logic isn't using the Sioux Suck Shit chant at every game even when they don't involved UND doing the exact same thing?
I agree with the poster that the existence of this chant, in games that don't involve the sundogs, gives them credibility. We care about these fools, therefore they matter.
I agree, Ames, Manhattan, etc. do way more for a program that a small interstate rivalry. The rivalry is fun for fan, and alumni but doesn't "grow" a program. So there is still something to be said for the game, but not in terms of growing or developing a program.
For the record this is NOT me bringing up hockey. I don't think it would be out of the question. We schedule home and home series with Bemidji St. Plus there are more games in a season for hockey, so more opportunity to schedule away games.
Pretty cool that you guys scheduled Orgeon, that is really big time. Hope you guys have a competitive showing in the game, for real. I don't care who your are, you have a close game (as a FCS team) against Oregon, I'll pull for ya. Pretty badass if you can schedule and hang with a team like that.
Agreed. Say UN_ even plays us close this week, but wins like 4 or 5 games this year and we have another deep playoff run. Nobody's going to care about the game except for the moral victory people and who cares? I get people's arguments, but I think the hand wringing is a bet unwarranted.
Right, rivalries are fun because of heated fan bases. But when the rivalry is a non-conference game, there is just so much less at stake. UND could win, which would be huge ... then have a terrible season. or NDSU could smoke UND, but then lose to Illinois St or Indiana St (not sure what your schedule is this year). Point is, the rivalry would carry more meaningful weight if it was a conference game. As it is, it is just fun game for fans, not too much more.
That being said, still more for us to gain and NDSU to lose, purely because of where both programs are currently.

This is the only sensible thing you have said in this entire thread, cannot wait for this useless game to be over and for the fighting squirrels to return to their rightful place of obscurity. Sioux suck.
You are right. So wrong of me to give him a bad time. How terrible it must be for others to put up with die hard fans of this football team. I apologize. I only hope that in the future I can be as good a fan as you. I will not believe in my team. I will always allow others to tell us how we are wrong, irrelevant, undeserving or lucky. I will never point out flaws in their arguments or unquestionably accept their motivations .
