Monmouth transfer OL Adrian Hawkins committed to South Dakota
I think the second tier of teams will be able to bolster there rosters by stealing the best FCs players from other teams. NDSU, SDSU, MSU don’t have as much need for those guys. They will most likely look for quality FBS drop downs.

That they have!
They have found their own developmental program path
and executed it very successfully this last decade.
Just took a Quick Look, but Maxwell Woods is the only one (so far)
who had a NDSU Offer. NDSU has still been winning - more than losing - to the Jackrabbits in recruiting battles.

College football sucks. FCS schools are just training grounds for players. Once they are good enough the big boys pay them and they are gone.
Hate what has happened and the NCAA doing absolutely nothing to fix it.
I’d wager that they think it’s broken now. Their problem is they didn’t realize it was broken at least 25 years ago or if they did they didn’t have the stones to do anything about it. Now they’ve sat around cashing checks and getting fat for so long they’ve been shouldered out of the process.
I tend to think the NCAA knew this would happen and knew it wouldn't be good for its membership and tried to avoid it. The best and worst thing that happened was the popularity of the Men's tournament and the money it brings. It has been able to fund opportunities in several sports at all levels, but it also made the coaches of the basketball and indirectly big-time football high salary roles. Now with NIL it's a mess that I'm not sure can be fixed

I agree. I transitioned from casual fan to serious fan when the NFL was doing the kneeling stuff. The college FB atmosphere at that time was so vastly different than the NFL, it was refreshing. I cannot envision a casual fan feeling that way about it now. I think the current environment will slow the growth of college FB fanbase.

South Dakota State offensive coordinator Zach Lujan is a top target to fill the same position on new Northwestern coach David Braun's staff, according to @FootballScoop.
Lujan was an SDSU offensive assistant when Braun was North Dakota State's defensive coordinator.

To the surprise of no one, Zach Lujan is in high demand. Northwestern won't be the only FBS school showing interest.

Will be interesting to see if Gronowski is still a Jackrabbit in a couple weeks.
Am wondering if Coach Rogers will go get this guy as the next OC

Highly doubt it. Could be wrong but I expect it to be Ryan Olson, Jake Menage or those two in a co-coordinator role.

FWIW, unsure on Freund’s title. It’s possible he will be a co-OC which is why my story is vague.

Tough to be hanging around when a coach is nearing the end of his contract with no guarantee of an extension in sight. ...
Now if you are Danny and have aspirations to be the head coach at your alma mater you are putting all your eggs in one basket. AD Bill Chaves either hires him or he is retained by the new head coach, or he is out of a job. The last two have a better chance of happening than the first if Chaves opens it up for a national search. Just never know who will apply.
Freund made the move best for him and his family. I don't blame him.
