Oh yeah, because he's a random Saints fan that graduated from Southern Miss in 2015. Lol. Got your and my clicks, so I guess it worked. Nice job
It’s from a publication called the saints wire
You can’t be surprised he is a saints fan

This is CBS Sports so more national but if true something happened in those just 2 weeks and especially the last game that soured the owner. Wentz was far from the only one who played poorly in that game.

We are hearing a lot of the same things from the local media and my friends' news feeds are ready for him to be gone. Their perception is he wasn't good.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...1300e9d34d.jpg

I have yet to read one negative thing out of anything from Indy.
The idea that the local small market media would be less driven by the desire for clicks seems wrong to me. I’d site opinions on this site about local media as evidence. That said, it’s pretty obvious that the national “insiders” at places like ESPN are shills for the league and transmission lines for whatever ownership/management wants the narrative to be most of the time. They’re interesting and sometimes insightful when it comes to the palace intrigue stuff, just be aware of who their sources are and what their motivations may be. Perhaps the local guys are better at cultivating locker room sources but again the reader should understand the perspective and motivations there as well.

It sure feels like the hate for Carson is disproportionate to his performance, but I do follow him closer than most NFL quarterbacks. I hope he lands somewhere and does well, but if not, there's 100 million reasons I think he will be just fine.

He's in the Kirk Cousins camp for hate-performance ratio

Lakes did, not you. Wasn't implying you did, was implying that's how this discussion was started on the comply false accusation that McFeely was attacking Wentz's religion.

Seriously? Based on what? It's way more likely that Wentz is McFeely's ideal of what a Christian should be like than that he hates Wentz for being Christian - as opposed to the "praying on a street corner" types.

based on his rantings on twitter and the past. he's shown his cards. He hates Wentz now (but was fellating him during the draft/at ndsu)
he even said he's fine with religious people getting exemptions & dying of C - on KFGO w gaptooth he said that about religion.
ANYWAYS I will end it there, no need to go down that rabbit hole.
>................. no one wants to talk about Irsay & Wentz having dinner in Nashville last weekend? why would Irsay do that if he was moving on from Wentz.

And the basis for you claiming this is what exactly? I honestly have zero idea what McFeely's religion is in the first place.

Fair enough, the quoting feature on here can get a bit tricky.

He is thought of very much like Cousins. It is odd that both are Christians though. How would one think of Cousins season this year if Cook doesn't fumble at the end to lose the Bengals game and the kicker doesn't miss a 37 yarder to beat the Cardinals (By the way the defense gave up some horrible plays in this game). They are easily in the playoffs and he is looked at a little differently. Both are like 10-15 rated Qbs in the league depending on the year but are generally bashed.

My penchant for local media is more about reading articles from writers who are held more accountable by their readers, compared to ESPN where it's a ton of clickbait and gotcha articles.

My point wasn't about the fact that he was a Saints fan, it's about his lack of NFL knowledge, access, research, etc. Why put any stock into a clickbait article? It would be no different than any of us writing an article about it lol

So how does that square with thinking the local Philly media are garbage then? there’s a ton of competition and everyone is an eagles fan. They should be responsive to their readers.

To pretend that McFeeley has even a neutral stance on average bible believing Christians is deeply misguided. He obviously lets it affect his opinion of people and it seeps through everything he does, clear as day. McFooley very clearly delights in the schadenfreude for anyone who dares to disagree with him on quite literally anything, which makes it very fun to read when he agrees with you and very not fun when you dont. But he pretty obviously lied about Wentz in that Hot Mic interview, and gleefully dragged his faith through the mud in the process.

I've been to philly four times in the past five years. Hardly everyone is an eagles fan, lots of NY fans, and transplants from other cities. Very different from Indianapolis.
Even then, just from interactions at tailgating I'd say at least a quarter of eagles fans don't even like the team they root for. Place is Toxic with a capital T.
For instance, imagine Indy media reacting the way Philly media did at the end of Carson's career. Wouldn't imagine it for a second

So, it’s not so much that you want the media to be responsive to their market, you want them to be responsive to you?

McFeeley is a better representation of typical religious view than Carson Wentz

An unfortunate concept onto which a lot of ignorant people unknowingly cling. I knew you wouldn't like my "local media" take :)
Like most people with their brains turned on, just trying to sort through the daily media agenda BS (from both sides)... And no, I don't think Wentz gets a fair shake from ESPN or Philly. I'd much more be willing to read folks who write to predominantly Colts fans have to say about it. Much less chance for bias to creep in, IMO.

Its not so much that I don’t like it as that I think you’re calling it something it isn’t, a local media take.
-
Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
McFeeley notwithstanding, I have a hard time seeing Wentz' religion having anything to do with it. The NFL is full of religious people, many of them more religious and more conservative about it than Wentz. He was clear about his faith, but he backed it up with legitimate actions that helped his community. He wasn't a big bible thumper and he avoided, for the most part, the politics of religion.
I think CAS hit it on the head with his earlier locker room comment, and I also wonder if Wentz coming from NDSU and the average fan not knowing the difference between FCS and DII had anything to do with how the public reacted. Lower division players are supposed to be a bargain that surprises you, like Thelan for the Vikings or whats-his-name who QB'ed the Rams years back. They're not supposed to be drafted that high and make that much money--and if they do, they better be better than anyone else...

My wife's employer required vaccination as a term of employment effective November 1. They did allow for exceptions and most that were submitted were for religious reasons. I don't believe many of them were from those denominations. Many did use the fact the vaccines used research that included cells from aborted fetuses in the 70s as the reason, but most think it was more political than religious. Probably a little of both and they aren't necessarily unrelated.

It'd be interesting to see whether these same folks making that argument would sign something that said that they'll refuse all medical treatments with any links to fetal tissue.
