Hopefully we will hear about a kicker. Otherwise, the class is looking pretty full. Maybe another couple of walk-ons.

Here is a good article done by the forum on Gebhart.

I particularly like this little bit:nod:
Trevor, however, said he never felt a strong connection to SDSU from the get-go.
“I went there, but it didn’t feel like home. It just wasn’t the same,” he said. “I don’t know, the way they recruited me was kind of weird.”
I was just on rivals snooping around and clicked on a few schools to see who signed with what schools. The one that I found that was very interesting was Iowa State. They signed a North Dakota kid out of Wahpeton by the name of Jon Caspers an offensive lineman that I have never seen mentioned before in all the postings I have read. They have him as a three star and ranked ahead of the Farniok (two star)kid out of Sioux Falls that I have seen mentioned many times before. Very interesting.

Greatest line out of the press release: JESSIE HINZ (like the ketchup)
hahahahahaha, smooth.
Seriously though, anyone else impressed with the number of All-(State, region, big city, etc.) recruits we picked up this year? Gotta like that we're recruiting some of the best regionally.
guess we will find out in 2011..... until then i refuse to take your venom!
quit hating..... I guess I dont see what the problem is in being a fan of both programs.... Last bison gophers bball game..... bison hat gophers sweatshirt...tough day for me.... you my friend will make football 2011 easy cheesy
I was kind of surprised the preferred walk ons weren't announced today. Anybody know who they might be besides Pittman?
Going back through the lists from previous GoBison press releases there are usually 4 listed. This year and the first year are the only time there weren't any walk ons.
I hope Pittman didn't change his mind, I think he has potential. Of course, I am partial to WI WRs.
What recruits are we still going after? Berry, Allen, and a kicker?
Berry has not been on the radar for a long time. Kicker and Allen. Allen sounds still very promising. Just needs to get to Fargo. 2 weeks and he will be.
The SF media is at it again...

Still, there seemed to be an admission on Stiegelmeier’s part that the learning curve continues, and that SDSU’s habit of waiting to make scholarship offers until they truly know a kid will have to be adjusted to this new reality.
Part of that is in reaction to North Dakota State’s scorched-earth philosophy of collecting early verbal commitments, which has encroached into Sioux Falls several times and represents a threat to those programs that take a more cautious approach.
Of course, there’s something to be said for maintaining some dignity and being able to evaluate kids during their senior season of football. And SDSU can lean on the fact that it has been able to win most battles for in-state talent because it is seen as the state’s established FCS school.
That's great news! When the Argus starts puling about mean old NDSU, that means NDSU kicked somebody's ass on the recruiting trail. Apparently, "scorched earth" means "identifying talent early and then offering scholarships." Seriously, using the phrase shows a depth of ignorance that I usually only see on TV opinion shows. Scorched earth? Did NDSU get the recruits they wanted and then kneecap the ones they didn't get?
My only concern is that the Grand Forks Herald hasn't run a similar story because that means UND must be pretty happy with their recruiting class.
Cmon, don't you know we are all suppose to sit around the campfire and sing kumbaya and then go around and each university each take a turn at picking which recruit they want. You know that would be the most fair and nobody would be "scorching the earth" unless the fire got away from the group during the second stanza of Kumbaya.;) ;) ;) ;)
Yeah, I edited my first post. A scorched earth policy is where you destroy what you can't use, leaving nothing behind for the enemy. The writer obviously wanted to use some sinister phrase to describe NDSU's recruiting and chose one that he obviously didn't understand.
It's actually a pretty good blog post. Just explaining how the recruiting has changed in the past 5 years. Fans are more hungry for recruiting news and pretty much know they whole recruiting class before it's announced on signing day. Alot different than 5 years ago, when signing day was like xmas and 15 new presents were opened.
Also talks about how are the local DI schools are looking for any advantage they can get to have a leg up on a kid. NDSU's new trend to get out and offer kids in the summer took the other local programs off guard but they will be ready for it this summer. I don't think anybody is trying to accuse NDSU of anything negative, they've just changed the landscape of how recruiting will be done at the regional FCS level.
