I actually viewed my post as more of a statement of solidarity with a fellow misspeller :)
Anyway, per the Forum article today, I added Logan Hushka and Danny Luecke to the Verbal and Offers list (they're walking on).

Great news about the Fargo South and Shanley recruits that will be walk-ons!

Tony, is Luecke a TE? No info in Kolpack's article about him. Anybody knowthe position he plays? If it is TE or DE that would make it a bunch of both in this class and thats no eggadjeration.

Re: 2009 Recruiting: Quick Reference
Anybody hear what happened to this QB:
Dustin Lotzer, 6'4, 215, Sisseton, SD
Who is showing interest and is NDSU still interested?
Did he have an injury this past season that made teams shy away, or is it something else? Seems he had some pretty impressive HS stats.

I think he took his knee out last fall - Haven't heard anything about what he looking at. Would be a great walk-on...

Lotzer tore ligaments on his throwing thumb. No knee injury that I know of. Since the Bison and Jacks both showed interest early, he would be an interesting walk-on. Not many kids can afford to walk-on if they get a scholarship offer somewhere.

Lueke will be going to NDSU as a DE

Re: 2009 Recruiting: Quick Reference
Derrick Engel is going DII. Fast but not physical, DII will be a good move for him rather than walking on at MN.

While that is no big deal perhaps, I noticed that Rivals also has Wahlo committing to DII as well. Do they know something we don't?

They show he had DII offers and is a verbal to the Bison.

All these mistakes sort of brings back memories of:

If anyone is a Rivals subscriber, do you know if Paul Swan chose Bowling Green rather than NDSU? Probably, but just searching for any potential late comers.

I found a different link where he committed to Bowling Green in July.

North Dakota State is expecting to sign 23 players today to a national letter of intent to play football.
There are 25 players listed on the first page of this thread, including the two known preferred walk-ons. It looks like we know about all of the scholarship players who are expected to sign letters of intent tomorrow. I think it looks like an outstanding class. Congratulations to the coaching staff!

Re: 2009 Recruiting: Quick Reference
Hmmm, I wonder what schools coach Bohl was talking about that like to recruit by going negative? :)

When did he say that? I obviously missed it.
Given the UND coaching staff has been telling recruits to come play for Susie Q because the coaching staff at NDSU is in disarray, my guess is......drum roll please.......

From the article:
Quote:
Q: What are some “don’ts” in recruiting?
A: “One of the ‘don’ts’ is you really stay positive in the whole recruiting approach. There’s a tendency when somebody will say something negative against your school that you want to retaliate. There’s no school that is a complete utopia, so there’s an attitude of some schools that want to choose to go negative. One of things you do is stay positive. The student-athlete we attract comes here because of grounded values. Typically, if a school gets negative recruiting against us, it backfires for them. But there’s a human tendency; if they say something bad about you, you want to say something bad about them.”
Q: Does that negative recruiting happen much out there?
A: “Yeah it does. I think a lot of times coaches will stay pretty professional. Then when it really comes time toward the end, that’s when some of the negative stuff and the gloves come off and that’s when you want to stay above the fray.”

Perhaps the most interesting to me is that Kolpack says Bohl is expecting LOI from 23 athletes. The quick reference on another thread lists 25 verbals. Do the 23 represent only scholarship offers? Do preferred walk ons not sign LOI? I don't know, I am just asking.
-
Re: 2009 Recruiting: Quick Reference
If the signing class stays as it is it will be a very impressive class for you guys. Congrats to the coaching staff!

Do transfers count for the LOI? I thought they could sign and start attending class at any time, not having to offically sign a LOI.

How does this class look compared to UND, Hambone? I have not looked and have no idea, just looking for an assessment from a non-NDSU person of the UND class in comparison.

FBS transfers don't sign a LOI, so that would account for the difference between those listed on Bisonville (25) and the number Bohl is expecting to sign today (23).

A thought about the character that can be applied to NDSU recruits.
Be more concerned with your character than with your reputation. Your character is what you really are while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

Anyone seen the Hushka kid from Shanley play? What's his position?
Also...is he related to the Hushka family from the Shanley glory years?
