So the article gets written entirely from the point of view of why it could happen and how it could work. With one sentence from the president who says it isn’t coming.

It does show PAC-2 have interest in the concept.

No, it shows half of the PAC has interest in the concept. Which is unfortunate because that’s who the entire scheme is centered around.
Funny I haven’t heard anything from Nevada, UNM, SJSU, Fresno State, Hawaii or Utah State on the matter

The other half may not have a choice. Nowhere to go unless they join MWC.
Unless PAC-2 has poaching funds, Promo/Releg is better than outright merger with MWC.

The problem is this is just an echo-chamber. We can all want it, but telling us about it isn't going to change anything.
Want to make a change/difference? Spend the same amount of effort that you spend complaining on here and direct that energy toward talking to big donors (oil money, Scheels, Sanford, RDO, etc....) Get them on board to commit to $X more in donations if NDSU makes a move up. Create a coalition of local/regional businesses to apply pressure to the university. Start a movement. Not with us, but with the community. Getting bisonvillers to come on board is relatively easy. But I'm willing to bet that even if 90% of us doubled our annual contributions, it would barely move the needle.
You've said it before, NDSU should move up because our brand is marketable. If you want to put pressure on NDSU, you need to get some marketable names behind the effort as well because honestly, Chapo; tjamz; TAB; PL; Kevin; Scottie; etc... are the "Hoople" level investors in comparison.

For Chapo:

To this point, NDSU has been mostly passive in whatever interest it has in moving to FBS. I've been told the people in the Mountain West who need to know of the Bison's interest have been told. Perhaps it's time to get more aggressive if the school is serious about pursuing a move up. If you want to be part of the action, you have to let people know. - McFeely

It’s going to take most of the conference to vote to move into this regelation model. The bottom half of the current MWC would not benefit from this new model and would prefer an outright merger with the PAC-2. There is a reason teams like Boise and Oregon St are the ones pushing this model because they want some of the MWC members but not all of them

A large number of college football fans know of NDSU's success, it's a story that can be discussed ad nauseam by reporters and game coverage, and "eveyone" wants to see if NDSU can truly make it with the "big boys". What better way to prove that than in this model? Honestly it's almost reality TV which audiences eat up.
That eventually dries up. Example: Boise St

They all potentially benefit though from the additional PAC bids and tourney credits. It's in the best interests of all for the PAC conference to exist, if they can agree on financial terms that work.
Continue to believe this is the best answer for all of them *IF* they can cooperate on it. Fear or Greed could mess it up though.
