I'm actually kind of surprised because early in the recruiting season he was getting looks from FBS schools but than he tore a ligament in his hand and it seemed all interest dropped off.

That's true. We have at least four good prospects (Lotzer is the fifth but I assume he'll redshirt) but none are very tested. Some of the Bison faithful are tough on Mertens but he's experienced and that means a lot.Quote:
