Sam, when's the last time you had a positive comment on
this board. They shot -!9. We don't need everyone. Keep
off the golf sites. You couldn't tell the difference between
a brassie and a niblick.

Haven't played much the last 2 years. Have some arthritis
in my hands. Hard to grip the club even with oversized grips.
Sucks when you're old.

I’m in the same boat. Had a hydraulic oil injection in my left hand back in 2012. Damn near killed me as it’s toxic when it gets in your bloodstream. Saved my hand but it’s in constant pain. Some days better than others. Was down to a 4 handicap but those days are long gone. Now I play a handful of scrambles a summer and nine holes here and there. Sucks but I’m above ground

Re: Masters Golf and Any Other Miscellaneous Golf Discussion
Feel the same pucknet9, just great to still be around the game.
Have an honorary membership to the FCC for all my years with the
USGA and the Bobcat. Play just a little, run the skins game on men's day,
am still involved with the Bobcat as the first tee starter and with the rules
and help with the Bison open. Too bad I can't just go out and play
every day, but it is what it is.

Re: Masters Golf and Any Other Miscellaneous Golf Discussion
I haven't swung a club in four years. Over winter the last time I lost a club's worth of distance and my enthusiasm went right with it. Dunno, maybe it's time to give up those steel shafts huh?
Got a little arthritis in my hands too but I don't think it's bad enough to stop me from playing. I'm going to head to the driving range as soon as we thaw out here.
Meanwhile, in addition to picking up a check for $1.6M, vaulting to the near top of the FedEx Cup standings and collecting some nice crystal Tom Hoge got to meet Clint Eastwood in person last Sunday. I see he is scheduled to tee it up in Phoenix tomorrow. I'm interested to see if he can keep focused after the win.

Re: Masters Golf and Any Other Miscellaneous Golf Discussion
So, following up on his first ever PGA Tour win last weekend Tom Hoge finds himself just 3 strokes back from the leader going into the final round tomorrow at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
But then, not much of a leaderboard. Nothing but professional golfers. Just like last week.

He is piling up the cash this year so far! Another win or top 5 would really be sweet!

Tom Hoge shares the day 2 lead in the Players with Tommy Fleetwood. I see another great big check in Tom’s immediate future.

Certainly way too soon to predict anything Audit, and weather not supposed to shape up until tomorrow afternoon. Add to that a boatload of huge names right on his heels who have yet to card their first round. (Just about any big name is currently huge compared to Tom though).
That said, just have a feeling that with the way he has played this season, he is gonna keep rolling in the nice finishes and tall cotton. And Jordan Spieth is in his corner as well! :rimshot:

The only thing dumber than the PGA’s double secret probation policy is Phil Mickelson, so I guess that works out.

Re: Masters Golf and Any Other Miscellaneous Golf Discussion
Smoke and mirrors for Tiger today. It’s a miracle that he’s playing at all, though.

Crazy magician, being Black and all. I’m personally pumped at his accomplishment. I get why you aren’t.

I don’t know what gave you that impression. My point was, given how he played on Thursday he couldn’t have scored much better than he did.

Smoke and mirrors hitting the rescue shots he did is what makes him tiger

I don’t disagree. It was impressive. I think he’s only been under par their one other time when he only hit half the greens or less. That’s not sustainable over 4 rounds for anyone.

So I should just paint you as being ignorant? You know better, and you know what you meant.
And you don’t like that Tiger did well!! I did!

Seems like you’re been hitting the mind reading juice pretty hard tonight. Go pick a fight with someone else tough guy.

Seems like you portrayed Wood’s performance yesterday with smoke/mirrors/illusions. His play today was far from that and he played hard, well, and grinded out a solid score. You don’t care for that because it doesn’t fit your personal agenda. Whereas I’m completely ok with it. Leave you bias/prejudice at the door for once maybe.

He hit 9 greens again today and scored 3 strokes worse. His round on Thursday was smoke and mirrors. He is playing hard. He’s obviously in pain, struggling physically and getting by on guts and guile all of which I admire. I’m not sure what you think my agenda is, I’ve said more disparaging things about Phil Mickelson on this board in the last two weeks than I have about Tiger Woods ever. But I like living rent free in your head. It’s very spacious.

Congrats to Tom Hoge on a nice showing in his first go at the Masters. 7 over and T38. And hats off to Tiger on his gutsy return to the event after nearly losing his leg and his life. Hoping his amazing recovery continues, and Tom’s success this year snowballs as well!

Re: Masters Golf and Any Other Miscellaneous Golf Discussion
Tom had push problems today but had a real good round going until 17 and 18 which he was 3 over on. Love the individual telecast on each player. Wish they would do that on all the tourneys, both men's and women's.

That would be wonderful. No doubt would cost a bit, but sure would be nice if they could give it a go. At least in all of the big events. Or maybe some of the big events?!?
