Yes, the last year or two before CD arrived were a mess.

Re: Catch all Recruiting thread
The toilet has been spinning downward for sometime and it needs to stop spinning down. Time to change the program and it starts with coaches. Now is the time.

well we'll see... I'm always skeptical about late signing period seniors. This team needs any help they can get

Right now it stands at 10 players returning for next season, plus 2 early national signing day signees plus Behnke.
Could use 2 quick athletes for the final spots, including a PG. (Spencer will be a senior next season)

Re: Catch all Recruiting thread
A point guard should be the first and foremost priority. Some one who can be a floor leader with SKILLS... We haven't had a PG since Lemar. Replacing her should have been first on MW's list. and really SJ isn't the answer.

Will be curious to read what you think of Behnke’s highlights.
I haven’t looked at them since Brian Shawn posted her commitment tweet back in January, but iirc thought she was a good enough athlete/ball handler to play both forward spots. Was kinda surprised she only averages the 12 points, but I don’t know anything about the team. Also chuckled at the photo of her with Coach Walseth, if she is really 6’ 2” Coach must of had some heals on......:)
Kinda like football players and their high school listed heights, many of our future Bison dropped an inch or two on signing day this week......:)
Edit: my mistake, I thought Coach Walseth was 6’ 1”, but just looked up a couple Penn State articles and they both listed her at 6’ 3”.

Amber Stevahn for BSC is leading the country for JUCO in scoring and her best attribute is not her scoring but the other parts of her game. So in my opinion yes she is D1 material.

According to Izzo was injured for was it 13 games, then came back and played limited in 4 games and left the team, going to transfer.

Re: Catch all Recruiting thread
She had some surgery on her foot injury.

Re: Catch all Recruiting thread
I know I keep harping on this but I have not heard we are recruiting her yet. I went and watched BSC women play last night and Amber Stevahn played all 40 minutes. I have to say this is how team basketball is meant to played as it was great. They pressed the hole game and she was the point person on the press. Her stat line is ridiculous at 12-19 from the field with 31 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, and 7 steals. If you live in Bismarck they have one game left next Monday at 5:30 and it is fun basketball to watch. I am saying this and it was my first ever time watching a BSC game.

Re: Catch all Recruiting thread
NDSU has offered Ahsha Spencer - 5’ 8 - G - Oak Park and River Forest HS (IL)
Also has been offered by Illinois Chicago.
http://midwesthoopsspotlight.com/gir...ahsha-spencer/
Quote:
Ahsha Spencer (OPRF HS): Talented playmaking guard that is very good with the basketball in her hands. Very shifty and beats defenders with ease to get into the paint and create for herself and teammates. Scored on drives often plus showed good vision on the move to distribute the ball very well.

I’ll be reducing my TM donation when I pay for FB tickets and accompanying fees. I pay more than seat fees. There will be a note with my payment. “BB at NDSU must change. Just embarrassing and unacceptable.”
I encourage others to do the same. It’s time.

Why would you want to hire a second year community college coach?
Haven't you been paying attention to the last Eleven Years?

Re: Catch all Recruiting thread
Good thing the Coyotes ran off that Coach who insisted on recruiting foreigners......
https://goyotes.com/coaches.aspx?rc=596&path=wbball
Like this one......https://goyotes.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=7360
Plus that same Coach went to Wisconsin and recruited this famous Wiscy cheesehead......:)
https://goyotes.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=7361
But on a serious note, being able to recruit Minnesota is what is needed.
Don’t know why Coach Walseth has struggled there - when she was hired I was happy to see she was from Bloomington originally and had AAU/Summer League connections - so far Minnesota has been a struggle for her - but there is an amazing amount of talent in Minnesota high school basketball nowadays. Just like football, that should be base recruiting for NDSU. After ND & MN as your base - supplement your roster elsewhere, which can include international players.

I'd take a CC HEAD coach, that hasn't lost a game all year, over two highly touted ASSISTANT coaches that haven't exactly set the world on fire,

Listened to the radio interview with Jack M and Sarah J. She said she was dismissed last Sat. Jack M didn't ask for a reason.
Sarah took the high road & only had good things to say about being a part of Bison basketball, her continued love for the game, etc.
Classy young lady.
