Hodgkin's lymphoma, if diagnosed early, is among the most curable of cancers.

Ugh, I just hate to see that. Sounds like she has an excellent chance of a strong recovery but I just hate to see anyone have to battle cancer, especially someone so young.
Best of luck to Hannah.

Although a persons first reaction is "Oh My God!", The prognosis for curing (as opposed to remission) Hodgkins and various non Hodgkins lymphomas is excellent. I have spent a lot of time trying to understand this disease over the last four months as our family supports our son. He is 22 and was MedEvaced from Afganistan in late December with Birkitt's.
The biggest help I have seen with this disease is attitude. A positive attitude (I will beat this thing) and strong goals (Here is what I am going to do when I am released) are critical. Attitude and goal setting are affected by the person's 'community'. You may find it hard to believe, but a simple inquiry or thought to the person through cards, calls, or caring bridge go a long way. Remember to keep the though positive. I remember a couple of times where my son commented that some well wishers were missing the boat as they acted like he was going to die. Hannah, Our thoughts and our prayers are with you as you face this challenge. You will, with the help of friends, family, and your medical team, succeed!

I just can't wait until we see Hannah walk back on the court after she crushes this obstacle. I was lucky enough to be able to cover the team this year and she has a great support system around her. Obviously thoughts and prayers are with Hannah, her entire family, and the rest of her Bison family.
