NDSU's potential market is probably around 1 million tops.
North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. It's nothing resembling P5. It never will be P5. But we deserve more than FCS lol.

We all live in stories... It seems to me that a definition of any living vibrant society is that you constantly question those stories... The argument itself is freedom. It's not that you come to a conclusion about it. Through that argument you change your mind sometimes... That's how societies grow. When you can't retell for yourself the stories of your life then you live in a prison... Somebody else controls the story. - S. Rushdie
Well...they actually do have a message board

“Our peers in the FCS and MVFC have been excellent partners for us and we believe that if NDSU were to stay at the FCS level, that we could continue to be very successful. The FCS, and specifically MVFC, are an excellent brand and it is encouraging to see the direction they are going.
That said, we have to always keep in mind what is best for NDSU. We have evaluated (or if we’re idiots and haven’t evaluated — we’re open to evaluating) our options at the next level. We understand the opportunities that are there for this university and football program at the FBS level and we will certainly entertain any invitations to apply for conference membership at that level.”
There we go. It’s non-committal to either, politically doesn’t piss any current partners off, and concisely states the university’s position. Took me about 30 seconds to come up with and a minute to write. Pay some PR firm $20k to polish it up and we’re good to go.
