Jacks make it a bit interesting with a base hit followed by a HR to start the 7th, but the Bison close it out.

    6-3 Bison
    final

NDSU will play the winner of Fort Wayne/USD tomorrow.

If you're the superstitious type, you have to admire Keith Brake for trying to avoid jinxing the perfect game. Shortly before the HR, he said "Bison with 5 runs on 7hits. And the Jackrabbits have ... been quiet". Wish it would have worked...
Brake seemed befuddled when early on NDSU used back up pitcher Byrne as a pinch runner. He then said I guess there is nothing in the rules against using a backup pitcher as a pinch runner. Why would a back up pitcher have different rules than any other player.

OH well NDSU wins, bring on Friday.

I was also wondering why he was so surprised at that...

Who did Byrne pinch run for, and in what defensive position was that player being used? If it was the catcher, that is just a courtesy runner situation. Byrne could have still entered the game to pitch if KK got in trouble.

Thankfully we have the new stadium. You can easily find a seat that blocks out the north wind!

It was for Hansen, so yes, "pinch runner" was the wrong term to use. That's why I didn't think he should have been surprised.

Nice easy win today. Great crowd today too. Notables faces in the crowd were Coach Entz and staff Coach Richman and staff, Tod Brown and Mike Regan and former SL Player of the year Cheyenne Garcia and family. Great to see the other sports supporting each other.
