That last inside info Lakes got relative to NDSU Athletics of any sort is when he got hit by a pitch, down one run in bottom of 9th and he was “signed” to hold at first with 2 outs and 3-2 pitch count.

The guy who “gave” him the shiner minnows was at the plate as I recall.

How is a PWO an interesting move?

Don't we typically have 4+ QBs on the roster each year, redshirt or not? Doesn't seem all that interesting, pretty common practice imo.

Are you saying JJ Woodin is a PWO? Would be a solid get if that's the case.

EDIT: Also, there are a few plays in his highlight reel where he is on the move and fires a bullseye downfield. Looks really natural doing it.

Yes, even if we ignore that it’s already been reported on Twitter and that NDSU never takes two scholarship QBs in the same class. All you have to do is read the tweet, he is getting an opportunity not getting a scholarship.

Yes most PWO’s I have seen. From my understanding PWO used to mean you had a spot on the fall camp. Maybe it still does and we don’t actually know who the PWO’s are. After fall camp you can expand your roster and I’ll bet many of these walk ons that don’t have a spot on the fall camp will be in Fargo in case one of the guys gets hurt or leaves the program. If football players want to walk on to play for NDSU that can only be a good thing.


It’s not a money thing more of a numbers thing I’m guessing. Maybe I have missed it but do players like Cordell, who plans to return, count against the 63 limit or are they exempt?
I think Covid proved anything can happen. I have no issue if that means more walk on opportunities
