I like this team much better. 08-09 basically had 1 great offensive player on it in Woodside, 1 great Mid Major player in Winkleman who struggled mightily against High Major teams with an exception or 2, a very solid role player in Tveidt who could do alot of different things, and a guy in Mike Nelson who never got nearly enough credit for what he did for that team. Had some great memories of that team though.
If our rpi stays in the 40's idk how we are not a 12 seed
I think ppl got it wrong summit doesn't need a win to get a 12 seed they need a 12 seed or higher to get a win
Could just put the regular season champ in the championship game next year and play a 8 team tourney amongst the rest
If the 08-09 team played the same schedule as this year's team, I would like to think that the records would be the same if not better. I think the 08-09 team finds a way to beat Southern Miss, and sure as hell doesn't lose to und. The 08-09 team had a record of 26-7, simliar to this year. 2 bad losses with S. Utah and Idaho. The other losses were Minnesota, a triple OT loss to SFA, USC, Oakland, and Kansas. It's an interresting debate. Hard to do though. It's like comparing 2011-13 football to teams in the 80's. Both were great.

I am not sure I agree with that. Marshall gives this team an edge against teams with good to great bigs that the 08-09 team just didn't have.
We don't beat ND without Marshall, ND has great guards(especially with Grant) but are weak inside. Marshall basically scored at will on them.
The best NDSU team that nobody talks about is the Woodside team that had Andre Smith. We didn't beat a high major team after Dre graduated...there is a reason for that.
