Do we start Leddy or Vargas? Goofs haven't seen Vargas.
Vargas. Start the pitcher with the hot hand.
The only reason some people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

Well, once you're out of bus range, geography doesn't matter that much. Michigan and Ohio State tend to get seeded fairly often, but there are plenty of non-seeded teams out that way to fill up those brackets.
Let's put it this way, whenever a MN, SD or IA(maybe) school is seeded, that's where we're going(also true for VB, Soc & BB). If a MN or IA schools is not seeded(or their bracket is filled up with schools even closer), then NDSU gets put on a plane to fill out some other bracket; typically in the west or southwest where team density is low. There might be a little jiggling around so that a regional isn't insanely hard or easy, but it's mostly random based on geography.
The location assignment goes like this:
1. The sixteen seeds all host a regional
2. A 400mi* circle is drawn around each regional and any non-seeded teams in those circles go to those regionals, unless:
a. schools from the same conference are not assigned to the same regional
b. if a non-seeded team is in more than one circle, they're assigned to whichever regional needs them more.
3. Teams outside any circles are placed in regionals with openings to minimize overall travel. I suspect they start form the west coast and work east because of team density
*might be 450mi; I haven't looked it up in awhile
Right. I just didnt know if a Nebraska, iowa, MN, Wisconsin team were host teams in those years ndsu travelled west. Obviously if they can send ndsu somewhere relatively close-especially UMN, theyll do that vs chartering out of fargo
