Silly question.........no, the pillars will remain and there are no considerations made for future expansion. Quit thinking ahead.......think backwards instead, that is the approach of the so called political leaders in ND. Bunch of bickering tightwads.

I wouldnt mind seeing what the locker rooms and team facilities look like kind of like the gophs had available for when tcf was built.
I don't care how the vote ended up. They still suck and always will.

If people supporting our athletic program provided the donations, we certainly could have built a brand new 9,000 seat arena just like Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The problem is that talking about something is free and the wheat gets separated from the chaff when you hand somebody a pen and ask them to write a check.

We are getting a pretty nice upgrade. It is commensurate with the dollars people were willing to commit.

Maybe I'm not Googling this right, but Duke's Cameron Indoor Stadium does not impress me. About the same age as the BSA, just larger (9000 cap.). Check that. Dedicated in 1940, closer to the age of the original NDSU Fieldhouse. Renovations in late 1980s. Over-sized quonset hut. Have I missed a recent upgrade that brings it into the category of "Awesome?"

I still like IUPUI Fairgrounds Coliseum: http://tinyurl.com/m89m986

    https://www.iu.edu/~images/dams/203697_actual.jpg

    Capacity: 6841

    Story: http://news.iupui.edu/releases/2013/...coliseum.shtml

    IUPUI structure cost: $63 M
    NDSU structure cost: $41 M
    IUPUI capacity: 6841
    NDSU capacity: 5945
I wouldn't compare the cost of the Coliseum to the BSA. IUPUI may be contributing to the cost of the renovations, but I don't believe they were a driver behind it. This is primarily a hockey arena and typical fairgrounds arena. It was very outdated so they are doing a major renovation. IUPUI just happens to be piggybacking on it. It is several miles from campus so I don't see a lot of students venturing out to attend games. They don't have much community support outside family and friends, and I don't know how this will change with the change of venue.

Sorry. The reference to Cameron was based on size (9,000 seats) and the fact it is recognized as one of the best places to play in college basketball.

I happen to think 6,000 seats is great plenty for Bison basketball. Could we fill it? Yes. Consistently? No way.

Could we raise enough money to build a new 9,000 seat arena? I'm going to have to go with NO on that. State money? Bwahahahahha

Personaly, I would much rather have a smaller basketball arena and pack it compared to having a larger arena appearing empty. The ability to sell out the SHAC will help bring in quality kids.

Full court shot? Heck not even a full or 3 quarters court pass.
