Ewu appears to have an offense built for the regular season but not for the playoffs. Horrible defense. That Sam Houston team isn't the same te am we know. Brand new coaching staff, completely different systems, and a bunch of jucos. The qb wasn't even there in the spring. They will start to gel later in the season . Adams is quite the athlete.

You're still giving them to much credit. They were the 7th best conference last year.

    Observations about the game.

EWU is the same as they always have been, a very potent, explosive offense with limited defensive capabilities. They are a good team that will be a top 5 FCS power come playoff time.

SHSU has a new coaching staff and 15 FBS transfers that missed spring ball. They have a lot of talent, but it will take time to gel and get everyone, coaches and players alike, on the same page. Their defense was not up to their normal standards, but I feel will be better by the end of the season. Their QB is big, athletic, and has a cannon of an arm, but right now is not on the same page as his receivers. If they get every one on the same page in the next few weeks they will once again be a contender for the title come playoff time.

Both teams are very fast on offense. It will interesting to see if our front 4 can hold their own this season as putting pressure on the QB is our key to keeping up with these explosive offensives.

I think a solid ball control offense that chews clock and limiting their opportunity is the best way to keep up with them.

Ewu did have one penalty, likely called by accident.

Cripes, their QB can't throw an accurate pass. He left like 3 touchdowns on the table. They get a guy that can throw half decent and they'll be ok. And they need to play deep safety for goodness sakes.
