I dont think the final rankings indicate where Furman is at. That team is going to make some serious noise next season.

Bohl's challenge is recruiting 4-5 star FBS players, building a fan base, building a winning team culture and mentality, changing the program from spread offense to defensive first culture, etc.....

The first Bohl recruiting class will have to deal with the fact that it will take most of their college careers to even to begin a winning tradition. It is not going to happen over night (3 years?).

I've got a feeling that in 3 years, both Bohl and the supporters of Wyoming football are going to wish he was back in Fargo. Just an Earl Solomonson intuition.

Anyone that thinks Bohl is going to be recruiting 4 and 5 star players to Wyoming is out of their minds. Boise State, America's darlings and the undisputed kings of the Mountain West conference have signed 3 4 star splayers in the last 5 seasons, never even getting a sniff of a 5 star. The Minnesota Golden Gophers, with their endless pool of money and their B1G status, have only been able to ink 3 4 star recruits in the last 5 seasons, all from the same class and are about to lose their only 4 star recruit for this season to Florida. Wyoming has no 4 or 5 star recruits at any point in the last 6 years. Bohl is going to have to make his hay where he always has, with guys that aren't as highly though of as they should be. He'll get a handful of 3 star guys, but his bread is going to be buttered with 2 star players and the same kind of "finds" like he made here.

And the Bison that keep it will prosper
And the Bison that break it will die
As the creeper that girdles the tree trunk
This law is the final word:
For the strength of the Herd is the Bison
And the strength of the Bison is the Herd.

Bohl doesn't need a single 4-star guy on that roster. Give him a decent group of 3 star guys and they will dominate. The whole "star" thing is completely overrated imo. People act like 4-5 star recruits are some separate class of superhuman that everyone else just gets dominated by. Boise state has taken it to big time programs with their 4-5 star guys and Boise is mainly just 3-2 star guys. NDSU with their 2 star and unranked guys has been taking it to FBS rosters loaded with 3 star and occasional 4-star guys. Athletic ability and skill are not static qualities and some programs develop them better than others. Give coach Bohl 3 and 2 star guys and they will give BCS teams all they can handle.

I believe that the same remains true for NDSU as well...give us some 2 star and occasional 3 star guys and we will continue beating up on the supposed big boys of FBS.

We all will get a very early gauge of where Wyoming is at in relation to NDSU with Montana coming to Fargo 3 weeks after their season opening trip to Laramie.
