I don't think that if NDSU went FBS and was in a meaningless bowl game that you would see anywhere near the crowd that is willing to travel to Frisco for a NC.

Not all of the meaningless bowl games are created equal. A Bison bowl game in Vegas would insane....a game in mobile not so much. I do like Frisco though...

Are you sure? Even before we were a 3x champ, people traveled pretty well to out of town games like Wyoming/Iowa State. Why would it be less attended at a neutral site, that is likely different every year, where people can take a mid winter vacation with a bunch of their friends? The culture of traveling with the team has been created already. That's the hard part. Everyone knows how much fun that TRIP is, and that is how you hook casual fans.

You can make anything a vacation. It may not be at a beach but the game is 1-2 days, drive some place else. Or show your kids a part of the country they never get to see.
