It's possible he called the foul on the facemask (I haven't seen that on the replay) but if he did, it could have been a live ball foul rather than a dead ball foul and the referee would have announced the facemask part of it.

I think either there is something about the way Richards got up that we can't see or he got too close to the play and didn't see what #10 did to cause Richards to fall on him. I'm guessing the latter more than the former. Believe it or not, some things are easier to see if you are farther away.
I agree with what you are saying, but if it did have to do with the facemask then they would have said it. Seems (to me) like they missed that call, they missed #10's arm wrap and called Richard for maybe something not on tape, like you said or just saw the aftermath and assumed he saw what he called.

And I agree with your last statement the most as I've coached and reffed enough sports to know that is absolutely true.

There is no evidence of a facemask from that video stevdock. Pure conjecture on your part. Give it up.
Who else from Bisonville sees a "likely" or even "possible" facemask in that video?

Correct. That's why it's unlikely there was a face mask penalty or that it was seen. However, it wouldn't be the first time a foul was announced incorrectly.

I don't really blame the ref for the PF call. I mean, he has to call what he sees - he couldn't possibly see the EWU player pulling Richard down. It probably didn't help that Richard looked like he was pretending to fall down - his reaction wasn't what you'd expect to see from somebody who was being tackled (i.e. he flopped rather than struggling to retain his balance.)

I don't blame anybody for that one.

I do have a problem with bad calls made by refs that can review the play in slomo (which PATENTLY happened twice in this game*.)

    * Unless "indisputable" means, "Sure, it looks like his entire body is completely flat on the ground before the ball comes loose but there could be a time anomaly that causes the light bouncing off the player to get here quicker than the light bouncing off the football so, no, I can't say for certain that what I'm seeing here in my booth from three or four different angles is really what happened." or "Yeah, the ball bounces up like it hit the ground but that could also have been caused a freak updraft or the gravitational effect of a tiny black hole -or-, check this, maybe the entire universe except the ball displaced itself by 2 cm at exactly the right the moment. Heck, I'm not even sure that I'm watching a football game. I might be dreaming. Or, dude, maybe I'm part of, like, some ALIEN'S dream... WHOOOOAA. I think I'm getting a proximity high from your bong exhaust and it is freaking me out."

Well here is your conspiracy Lakes. The officials on the field were from the CAA, Villanova's conference. Prior to the start of the game, we knew that Villanova had won and was advancing to play the winner of NDSU vs EWU. Villanova wanted no part of playing in the FFD, in front of 20,000 (The Nuthouse Lite), against the Mighty Bison. So the Villanova AD contacts the guys in the Buffalo Wild Wings command center, who let the refs know that Villanova prefers to play EWU, and the rest is history. And yes, I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

They've got a sheep picture for every occasion!

...and I do mean EVERY occasion.
Many thousands are in want of common necessaries; hundreds of thousands are in want of common comforts, sir."
Scrooge-"Are there no prisons?". "Plenty of prisons..."
Scrooge-"And the Union workhouses." . "Are they still in operation?". "Both very busy, sir..."
"Those who are badly off must go there."
"Many can't go there; and many would rather die."
Scrooge- "If they would rather die," "they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population."
