16,000 should be a goal...
I just looked at The Forum's web site. In the "updates" section, very near the top it says something like "UND sets record enrollment". Down a lot further it says "NDSU has 1.5% enrollment increase".
I mean, Good God, ours was a record too, and we are still ahead of UND. I'd like to see Brad Schossman explain this one away. I am fed up with the bias crap that goes on there. (Me and 10,000 others, I know).

Now I'm even happier about the small drop in grad school numbers.
Record college enrollments in North DakotaNDSU has a 2 percent increase in undergraduate students with 11,977 students. Graduate enrollment of 2,084 students is down slightly from last year’s count of 2,103.
Graduate School Dean David Wittrock said applications were up 18 percent this fall, but NDSU admitted about 1 percent fewer students.
“We have a lot of programs that are comfortable with the number of students that they have,” Wittrock said.
You got ripped? Seriously? I remember Dick Hanson getting ripped for that even though Chapman said the same thing about 16,000.
When Joe first stepped on campus, everybody was saying that enrollment was doomed to fall at every campus in North Dakota. Chapman then said (paraphrasing here), "Screw that. We're going to grow enrollment to 12,000 in x years." NDSU hit the target ahead of schedule (with actual college students rather than online people taking a credit or two.)
